Cedar Rapids Museum of Art

I went into this museum because it was so hot outside. The fee was $3 for students. I didn't expect much when I went in but the exhibits surprised me. The museum is quite and empty, which was nice and relaxing. A lot of the art are amazing and very well done.

The whole building is such a pleasant place to be and has a lot to offer. The gift shop has many unique and interesting items, often featuring work by local artists. The lobby has a small but beautiful atrium. The first floor has open lounge areas where I can sit and read for a few minutes between clients. The museum itself is well organized and the staff in knowledgeable. The exhibits change so even if you have been here before you can find something new. Admission is very reasonable so, you can take the whole family without breaking the bank.

I love this museum. Everyone is helpful. And I love the mix of current Iowa artists with global artist exhibits. The gift shop is fun. I even learned about sponsored free events for adults and children.

Fantastic realism galleries including Hopper works. Location is grand in middle of downtown and east walking distance to NewBo market. Great way to spend a day.
