The food was delicious, the service was great, and I'm already planning another trip! We went on a weekday night, and it wasn't too busy. They have high chairs and boosters, as well as a kids menu, which was a bonus for us. Everything we ordered was great and came out quick! I liked this better than some of the big name KC BBQ places! Will definitely be back!

Char Bar has awesome food! I've been wanting to try this place since they were featured on The Food Network. We had a gem of a server that was knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered several items, and I would order all of them again! It was hard to choose, but this is what we got: {Happy Hour Menu} Lobster Deviled Eggs - I just love all deviled eggs. {Happy Hour Menu} Beer-Battered Pickles - huge portion...we were surprised, especially for happy hour price! {Starters} Jumbo Smoked Chicken Wings - wing sauce is always tricky for me, but we both liked it! Different than anything I've had before...tangy & peppery + their house ranch w/ chives is delicious! {Starters} Charred Bits & Grits - some of the best burnt ends we've had (crispy, not too fatty) and the grits were perfectly cooked.

The service was terrible. It started by bringing us to a table that could fit all of us, then they sat us at a high top table with backless bar stools, which was wildly uncomfortable for our 93 year old Grandpa. Every aspect was slow, from getting out order in to getting food, even getting water was slow. We went to go play the yard games- probably the biggest attraction, and it took 4 people at a practically empty bar a good 5 minutes to tell us that we would need to go back inside, and PAY for the stuff to get set up. The prices of the food and drinks are also pretty expensive. I can't complain about the food to much, it's pretty good, but in Kansas City it's not hard to find good BBQ...

Parking garage right next door so you don't have to worry about finding street parking. Great outdoor area, with a relaxed vibe. Most importantly, great food and friendly staff. Shout-out to Church for awesome service tonight.

Food was tasty, but very small portions for the price. But what is going on with all the dogs? Who takes their pet to a restaurant?!? It's probably a swell place if your M.O. is to use your dog to initiate a meaningful overnight relationship. However, if you want to have dinner with your family without a flea-bitten animal pissing on the floor beside your table, choose one of the many better restaurants within walking distance.
