Is it worth the wait? That’s the question when it comes to Joe’s. You’ll find yourself asking this when you’re standing around the corner of what looks like an old gas station and the front door is so far away you can’t be sure it’s real, all the while the sun beats down on you. If you’re hugging close to the building, just trying to find some shade, I promise you it’s worth the wait.
The food is amazing. Get the ribs, get the zman, get the beans. For the love all thing BBQ get the beans! Full disclosure- that’s all we tried but honestly we loved every little bit of it.
This place is packed and there is a darn good reason. The line moves quicker than expected and there always seems to be a place to sit down. The staff is friendly and a huge plus! I’ll be back.

OMG. Being from Texas I thought I knew what good BBQ was. I guess I was wrong. This place blew my socks off. Even though we had to wait for over an hour and a half to get in to eat, the food was out of this world. I have never had BBQ ribs that tasted so good as well has the brisket. I will never complain about the wait because it is so worth it once you get in and taste that BBQ.

Oh my goodness! The meats! Yes, it's in a gas station, and it's busy, but for good reason! The sandwiches we tried in our group were all fantastic, and the fries were really good. But the dirty rice was a whole other level of awesome, and the burnt ends! WOW!

One of three locations in the KC area. I have been here several times. I have no idea why they serve BBQ in a working gas station but the BBQ is the best I have ever had. I can't go to KC without at least going there once. The seating can be a bit crowded at normal meal times but it's definitely worth it. Joe's reputation for being the best in KC is well deserved. You won't be disappointed in the food.

Best BBQ in KC, prices are very good. The longest I have ever waited for food, even during a busy evening dinner rush, was 45 minutes, but you can drink beer while waiting! There is a tap next to the counter on the left once you get inside. Secret tip: you can make any meat into a Z-man sandwich (their famous and the best thing on the menu!. I have had ham, chicken, brisket, sausage and mushrooms on a Z-Man and all are delicious.
