Cherry Street Tavern

The perfect neighborhood bar. The interior is welcoming and cozy. Both bartenders were incredibly kind. I saw a few of the roast beef sandwiches being prepared and they looked delicious. Had a really great time here and will surely be back. Edit: Did come back here after celebrating my birthday at the Mütter Museum and my initial review was correct. This place is the best. The bartenders are so kind and it makes for an outstanding visit. A great place to have a chat with people you care about.

This place has a reputation for a reason...a good reason. Fresh made hot roast beef sandwiches w/ sharp provolone, long hots & horseradish = & the service is as friendly as it gets. Felt like a regular by the time I left. Classic!

We were in the area today and decided to pop in for lunch. This place is unassuming from the outside, but nicely done inside, somewhat of a old-school neighborhood tavern. The bartenderproprietor? was super friendly and made us feel right at home. We got the roast beef sandwiches, thinly sliced on a nice bun, very tender and flavorful. With a bowl of diced horseradish, the way it should be. When I paid the bill, the friendly proprietor called me by name and warmly invited us back. Good food, outstanding service, highly recommended

THE ROAST BEEF SANDWICH! I live in Colorado now and I still fly to Philly just to get this sandwich. It’s that good. Plus the people are nice and it’s an old school feel you just can’t find any more. Pull up to the bar, grab a pint or two while you eat. Keep staying great, Cherry street.

I lived across the street for several years. Everyone at this place is just good people. I’ve never once felt out of place and their roast beef and roast pork sandwiches are killer.

We call this place the local watering hole. Always feel welcome when you come in here for a drink. Don't forget to grab a beef or pork sandwich!

Been a fan for over ten years and always come back. Best bar service and a old school spot as Philly gets. Laid back attitude, best sandwiches and crispy chips! It’s all I want sometimes in a bar...certainly a place stuck in time and doing it just right.

I was in town on business and I needed to get lunch close to the hotel, I found this tavern and it was perfect. I got a great sandwich and a terrific beer from one of my favorite breweries in South Jersey. No complaints, great staff, cool atmosphere, might sneak back before going to airport....

This place was amazing! From the outside it looked a little suspect, but it's cute, has lots of nice microbrews and great selection of IPAs, as well as the staple beers ever one has Coors,Miller, ect....but they are really about thier subs .....I wasn't really in the mood for one .....but I was blown away only the highest quality meats and cheese .....and two nerd guys wear aprons and walk around telling stories ....you can tell they really put alot of time into it and they are pretty solid choice if your near the train station
