I work with the sales staff for two weeks to put together a deal on a brand-new Boston whaler as well as trading in one of my boats. After agreeing to a price for both the Whaler and my trade value, they put together a sales contact. After securing financing, I gave them a deposit in good faith. The day of purchasing the brand new boat I found out myself, not from them the boy actually had 12 hours on it. I was completely shocked that this was never brought to my attention before the deal was agreed upon. Due to the high cost of a brand new Whaler, I asked for a $2,000 discount which they were not willing to give any discount and said the hours were from the dealer installing auto trim tab system. If that wasn't bad enough that's not what lead me to this review. That day of finding out the hours and them not discounting the boat I told them I was no longer purchasing the boat and they agreed to give me back my deposit. Well, 5 months later no deposit, what's even worse they are actually telling me I didn't leave a deposit. I sent them a copy of the contract showing the deposit and a copy of my credit card statement just in good faith even know they know I left a deposit. Attached is a screen shot of my deposit and their email saying I didn't leave one. I'm now taking this up with Boston Whaler directly.

I left Chesapeake Boat Basin a couple of years ago as their last service manager was less than stellar and did a horrible job of following up and communicating with customers. I decided to return to CBB this year as I heard they hired a new service director. As luck would have it my engine had a major failure after having it serviced, but Ariel the new manager pulled my 30’ Whaler out of the water, ordered the part and had it back at my dock within five days. Look, I highly recommend using Chesapeake Boat Basin and do not hesitate to call Ariel, she’s the real deal!

This is the friendliest, most accommodating and well run Marina we have experienced during our voyage from Branford, CT to Hilton Head, SC. The floating docks made for an easy docking and on/off from our trawler. The offered use of a "yard loaner van" to get to town for groceries and take out (we have a small dog that travels with us) was so appreciated. However, it was George (the yard manager) who really made the difference as his local knowledge and recommendations were right on. We happened to be at the marina during hurricane Matthew's progress up the eastern seaboard and so decided to leave the boat for a week and let him pass! George took us to the car rental agency (about an hour's drive) and then offered to pick us up upon our return. Simply a very fine person who couldn't have been more accommodating.
