I am very disappointed in the process CIGNA takes to work with its plan participants. My roommate had work done back in November and to the fault of CIGNA has been very unresponsive to her or the provider. Multiple conversations has occurred with my roomate having to fight tooth and nail but all CIGNA does is ask for additional information. once this information is provided promises are made and CIGNA never follows through. It is not often i write a negative review, but the sis very disappointing business practice.

We have CIGNA through my husband's employer and we have detailed questions about out explanation of benefits. I call the phone number and their customer service is now in the Philippines. The agent can't answer anything past the script that he or she is given- only very simple questions. I have been looking for a U.S. number for days. So this is what we get for $700/ month for two people. P.S. – people who have reviewed CIGNA below b/c you work there – we don’t care about your opinion. Sorry for the poor girl who CIGNA decided can’t get a CT SCAN that several of her doctors said she needed. So profits over people. This is a sad sign of the times.

Signing up with Cigna in the first place was a real pain, lots of wrong info entered - they set up multiple accounts and left it for me to sort out. However, I got it done. Now a year later I find out that because my credit card declined because it has expired - they cancelled me with zero notices. They said they sent a letter to me but I didn't get it. I also didn't get a call, and certainly no email which would have seemed to be the most obvious course of action. The only reason I know was because I was balancing my statement and noticed the payments hadn't cleared. Logged on to Cigna and got a notice that they were sorry to see me go. I called and they said because I hadn't made a payment within 2 days of the cancel date they couldn't restart the policy and were unwilling to write a new one. THIS COMPANY IS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS! AVOID!

I give them ZERO STARS!! I'm only in my 30's and normally healthy. I've been having non-cardiac related chest pains lately. My Primary Care Physician ordered a C.T. scan of the chest and these idiots denied it! I went to a lung specialist (Pulmonologist) and he said I need a CT scan of the chest to determine what is causing my constant chest pain. So he ordered a CT scan of the chest also and these a**holes denied it again! You're telling me that an insurance company knows what's better for my chest pain than my family doctor and a lung specialist!? This is a 1.62 billion dollar profit company! You'd think they could afford to spring for a CT scan. A**holes!
