Clarence Howell Shoe Repair

If you have some shoes or a purse that’s nice, I would not suggest this place, but somewhere where they’re a little more “sophisticated.” Clarence Howell nicked the leather in a very expensive designer purse. And unasked, on some boots, they piled on the polish that, after trying to kindly rectify the problem by a man with large hands going over the boots again and again (I was there), stretched out the leather. One boot even slipped off my foot. On the phone Clarence said he would pay me some of the value of the boots. When I came in, he then said he didn’t believe me and that he would only pay for the repair. I will drive a little farther next time for a higher quality place. If you need something done on some everyday items, of course they can do that. But for something nice, I would never go back. Sorry, Clarence.

They did a great job replacing the soles and heels of a pair of men's dress shoes for me. I got them back in just a few days. I have another pair I'm taking to them next week.

Mr. Howell is AMAZING. My parents have been customers of his for years, and now I am a loyal supporter and customer. He fixed a vintage, Gucci purse for me that was greatly worn and made it look brand new. Even fixed some minor wearing on the heel of one of my boots for free. He's the REAL DEAL.

Clarence is a gem. The repair is thorough and stellar. Two of my favorite pairs of shoes have been restored to their former glory and sturdiness. I will be grateful for him and I am happy that the Cincinnati Playhouse referred me to him. This type of workmanship and value is of a class that is almost long gone. My highest esteem and regards.

I would HIGHLY recommend this shop. I needed to have the bottoms of my high heels replace and he fixed every scuff, tear and cleaned them (and didn't charge extra). He went completely above and beyond and my worn down shoes look brand new! I'm a very happy customer.
