Clinton Book Shop

I am the author of a series of science fiction stories under the name Woohox Chronicles. I was happy to participate in a book signing event over the Thanksgiving weekend known as Dickens Days. I brought my books and sat in the Clinton Book store for my agreed upon time. I sold several books during the event. Roy kept three additional signed copies to be sold at a later date. I was told that my remittance for the books sold that day, and any others sold during the remainder of the event would be mailed to me within the following weeks. When I did not receive a check by mid December I called the shop and was told that I would get my check at the end of the month. As it was Christmas I waited until mid-January to call again as the check was not forth coming. I was told that there was bookkeeping error and the check would be sent by the end of the week. I waited again and at the end of January it was obvious that neither Rob nor Harvey were taking my calls. You see when I called on a different number not associated with my name Rob picked up immediately, and gave me another excuse as to why I had not been paid. I was again told that the check would be in the evenings mail. February 10th, and I still have not received my just due. Calling again to see what the hold up was Rob became quite indignant and rude, especially when I asked if I should get a lawyer to mitigate this issue. Rob and Harvey kept three of my books and still owe me for the sale of four others. This store cheats authors who are trying to get their name and stories out. You would be better off purchasing your books from Amazon on line or Barnes and Nobles. My books are listed on both exchanges and I never had an issue with them delivering payment in the contracted and timely manner. M. Stojic author

A great small bookshop with an excellent selection of all genres, and a large children and young adult section. If they don't have the book you're looking for, they will happily order it for you. They also host some pretty awesome author talks.

They have a used book section with reasonable prices and an excellent assortment of selection.
