Maintence doesn't come unless its uninvited . Rent increases even though we couldn’t use the pool for half the summer. Gym is dirty with dead roaches every where. Buildings are outdated and cheaply made with new paint. Not worth the money, its almost a quiet neighborhood but the maintenance crew for the landscaper will have you up bright and early. On weekends too. They tow cars for even tho we have open parking.
The rental office staff at this complex are horrible! I know of a disabled resident residing here who owed a rent difference after already paying hundreds of dollars to them to be transferred to another apartment when their apartment ceiling caved in twice due to the neighbor's apartment above flooding. The resident had to take an emergency trip out of town right before the money was due after receiving word their mom was passing... who had also lived at this complex for years before becoming ill and having to relocate to be taken care of by family members. After reaching out to this rental office to explain the situation, the office staff would not allow the resident one extra day to return to pay them and threatened to put them out...causing the resident to leave their passing mom and take an emergency trip back by train. Once back, the resident goes to pay them only for them to inform them that they will not accept any money until they have verified employment since the transfer to the new apartment that would now be in their name constituted as the resident being a new applicant. They even called and hounded the resident while on the train back! NO compassion or empathy at ALL! Simply greedy for money.
Great place to call home. Grounds are immaculately kept, both office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful always. Maintenance requests are handled within or before 24 hours. Would definitely recommend MMA a place to call home.
I don’t usually write reviews like this but it was by the worst apartment I've ever stayed at. Maintenance was walking in without letting you know, the night we moved in we saw roaches... and even after calling pest control it continued. The move-out fees are ridiculous and they charge you for things that weren't even your fault. I do not recommend staying here at all, because it’s that bad. I had to break the lease, I couldn't stand to stay there any longer.
When I first moved in it was good Catherine was nice and sweet, but Candice was rude to me when I called and tried to explain to her my situation she wasn’t trying to hear it and pretty much just tired to talk over me not caring what I had to say. I tired numerous times to reach out to cooperate never heard back from them either. MAA is a joke they act like they care about their residents and they don’t. Apartments are infested with Cockroaches and I keep my place very clean because I’m a very clean person and a neat freak.. please save your money and stay far away from MAA at Chancellor park… They like you when you first move in but treat you like trash after..and the prices went up. When I first moved there my rent was $973 plus fees for a one bedroom. Now for a 1 bedroom it’s like $1200 and not even really luxury apartments.. by far the worse place I have ever lived and the office staff are just rude except for Catherine she’s really a sweetheart and very understanding!! STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!
Roach infested scam hole. MAA was and is a scam. Charged me a pet fee for my cat, that didn't go towards damages, just for extra money. My agreed upon rent was $836, but after all of their BS requirements it came out to $986! $10 MAA Connect Fee??? Never even knew what this was for. Was never explained to me either. "Everyone gets charged this" was the answer I got $70 They force you to get their internet, which they get in bulk, at a discounted rate; then they charge you the full price spectrum would charge. $18 Community Fee? Maybe for the gym and pool, but neither were anything to write home about. Maintenance scratched my car blowing rocks onto it, that $18 for 15 months didn't cover that. $15 On top as pet rent, even though I provided proof of an ESA that I paid for. They denied it, and charged me. When I moved out, my father and I made the place SPOTLESS. Scrubbed the carpets and washed the walls, the whole 9 yards, and took photos. Now that I moved out, they are charging me another $200 for damages??? in conclusion, unless you want roaches in your apartment, infesting your electronics and then following you everywhere; and fees that make no sense, raising your rent $150 monthly, I would look elsewhere.
It’s an okay place to live. When I first moved here, everything was great. After a couple of months things started going downhill. I’ve heard gunshots on quite a few occasions. My neighbors used to play music and be loud outside all night long. Maintenance used to be great but more recently hasn’t been at the same standard. I understand that precautions have to be taken because of COVID-19 but the quality has gone down. My air conditioning wasn’t working and it had been 80+ degrees in my house for a few days before they came to fix it. They completed the maintenance request in the system but didn’t actually fix the ac. I had to put in another maintenance request and it took another two days for the issue to be fixed. I had to inquire multiple times about fixing my sliding door, even when I reported that I thought someone tried to break in. It’s very rare that someone answers the phone in the office and they are very slow to respond to emails. I’ve sent a number of unanswered emails. And when I inquired about downsizing my apartment and staying in the community my emails and calls were never answered. For the most part, I enjoyed my stay but towards the end of my stay no one was helpful, not the property manager, not the assistant property manager, not the maintenance team.
These apartments are amazing and beautiful. The landscaping and the architecture has a very pleasant affect on the eyes. The staff is professional and attentive. The owners should definitely hire a security staff though. The criminal activity in this complex is not high but it's too high for a city like Charlotte. I've lived in other major cities and I bare witness that Charlotte is the most peaceful major city that I've ever lived in. I read the comments about the complex raising prices. I suggest that the best way to add a security staff without having to add too many expenses is to train the maintenance staff in Plant Operations. Plant Operations staffs handle maintenance, life safety, loss prevention and security. They have to be paid more than the average maintenance workers but it's worth it and it's cost effective in the long run.
It was good when we first moved in, but a month in there are constant domestic disputes, you smell weed all the time. The sanitation is awful. There are gun shots almost every night and it is not safe. We told them issues that were there before hand they never came and fixed them. A whole bunch of hidden fees that can be raised at random. You are stuck with spectrum don't get it waste of 80 bucks. Good luck trying to talk to any of them they don't pick up or answer. Not safe, don't live HERE. DONT MOVE HERE. TRUST ME NOT WORTH IT. SAVE YOUR SELF!!!
First let me start off by saying if I could give this place a -5 I would. I have always been the type to never read the comments or go off of comments because all you see is bad never the good. But the comments that you read for this apartment that are negative please take it serious. My first two months of living here was wonderful but after that it all went down hill. This is the worst apartment that I have ever lived in, I would not recommend this place to NO ONE. The staff never answers the phone and they will tell you to leave a message and they will get back with you but they don’t. You have to call multiple times back to back just to get anyone. They let anybody move in!!! I’ve heard multiple fights from different homes, gang slag, and multiply cars being broken into in the one year that I was living there. They place ridiculous fees on your account without any notice or explanations. Their moving out policy is outrageous and you have to pay for things even if it wasn’t damaged or dirty. PLEASE DO NOT PICK THIS APARTMENT FOR A HOME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY !
