Very frustrating experience with an apparently unresponsive burocracy.
I give one star because zero stars isn’t an option.

I don't know why this agency exists. DO not bother to contact. Instead try to vote the people out that allow this place to exist

I am a former firefighter who is permanently and totally disabled due to a back injury. I tried to schedule a surgery for my injury with Kaiser Permanente. They denied the surgery claiming that it was considered experimental, even though they have surgeons performing it at least one of their facilities in this area. They also violated 3 Medical Utilization Review Regulations in their response. I sent a detailed letter of complaint to Colorado Division of Insurance by registered mail. After hearing nothing from them for weeks, I called multiple times and left messages to see what was being done about my complaint. When they finally called back and I was able to speak to a supervisor, she was insistent that I file an appeal rather than them penalizing Kaiser. After more than 3 months they have done nothing. In my opinion this Division serves no purpose and should be eliminated.

I called DORA to inquire about a practitioner who advertises themselves as registered under DORA, but isn't actually registered--this was confirmed by someone working in the License Office at DORA, who then transferred me to the appropriate office to report it. I was told it would only be investigated if I filed a formal complaint, including providing the patient's information, despite the fact that this 'practitioner' is seeing clients, has a web page advertising their 'registration' and can be looked up by anyone--is that how the law works?? Practice whatever you want, and as long as no one files a complaint you're fine? Quacks, welcome to Colorado.

I was just about to call with my question of concern and noticed the ratings. It initially says 5 reviews 3 stars. I go to the reviews and there are actually only 3 reviews not 5, all of which left a 1 star rating. According to their figures 3 (1) star reviews gets an "average" of 4 stars, which brings them to a 3 star rating. REALLY? I am already being lied to before even calling them which only insures the runaround treatment if I do call them. And quite frankly, it doesn't say much about their inelegance if they don't realize that 3, 1 stars reviews = a 1 star rating.
