Avoid this scammer! He assumes people don't know anything about technology and ripped me over $200. Instead of repairing my driver, he ENCRYPTED my data and asked extra money for unlock it!
The Computer Clinic's service was top notch. I took my computer in with a hardware issue that BestBuy had told me would take a month to fix and they were able to fix it within a week of my first visit. The consultation was quick and the service was efficient. I didn't need same-day service, but the fact that they offer it just goes to show how far they'll go for their customers. The service is friendly, skilled, and quick. You really can't go wrong with Computer Clinic Center. They're upstairs in their building and a quick stop from the Tenlytown Metro. I'll definitely be using their services again.
This place is great. My computer crashed, I thought I had lost all my important documents I took it in, they were very friendly and helped me calm down. This past week was the second time I had a computer problem. 6 months ago my laptop screen went out and i had to get to a meeting that afternoon. The man was very helpful and super knowledgeable. While I was in tears, he told me no worries go home get ready and he replaced the screen for me within 3 hours. I would highly recommend Computer Clinic Center to anyone that has a computer problem.
Avoid this business. I went in for a simple solder of a USB connection on a handheld GPS device. The device worked perfectly when I brought it in, other than the USB port. First of all, he delayed and delayed for several weeks so I finally decided to just retrieve the device. Then suddenly he said over the telephone he could fix it for an additional $150.00 on top of the original $100 inspection fee. I declined. When I retrieved it, the screen was damaged, the back was scratched and dirty, and the USB port was missing. The device was completely unusable. I telephoned him a few days later and he said he never even bothered to turn the device on when he was inspecting it, despite the fact that it had batteries in it. He also said any damage was incidental to opening up the device. I think he switched devices and gave me back a different one. This guy is a crook.
My laptop's screen was experiencing some flickering issues. It was still usable but very annoying. I brought my computer in to get the screen replaced thinking it would be a relatively simple procedure. A few days and $250 later I got my laptop back. The screen display worked fine but the touchscreen no longer worked I payed extra for a touchscreen replacement and somehow the touchpad of all things was broken as well. One of the screen hinges was also cracked. The owner suggested I tape it back together. My laptop is now less usable than it was before. The owner offered to let me bring it back in for him to fix it but by the time it's fixed i'll probably have spent nearly enough to buy a new laptop which I think i'll just do at this point. I should have checked other business rating websites before using this business.
Stay far, far away from Computer Clinic. 7 of the 19 reviews give this place a "1 Star" review out of 5, with the word, "scam" mentioned continuously, and Google somehow lists this as a "4 Star" business. Owner gave me a price range over the phone for an extremely basic job on my laptop with just 30 minutes of his labor. When he finished, he hands me a bill for around double and then invents a blatantly fictitious dialogue that we supposedly had before on the phone. It was infuriating to deal with this human being. This is why you go to Geek Squad, where you know they're not going to rip you off, that you can go to management if there's an issue, and where you just know they're not going to start lobbing highly inflammatory insults including ethnic comments at the customer. The treatment I got, and the sheer level of dishonesty was so shocking, that I had trouble processing it while it was happening. His office is a pigsty, dirty with piles of debris, papers, old electronic parts, boxes piled at odd angles. In fact, he had to search through his junky floor to find the screws from my laptop that he dropped on the floor. After back-and-forth, I got the bill down closer to $100 still above the high range of his quote and he gave me a slew of insults. This guy is disrespectful, dishonest, and I felt like I had to take a shower after dealing with this guy, who gives small business owners a bad name. It has literally been decades since I've had such an unpleasant, sleazy experience with a business. Instead of the word, "scam," I think "predator," fits the bill.
For the second time, the Computer Clinic Center solved a problem Apple declared could only be "solved" by --- you guessed it --- buying a new laptop. CCC fixed the problems for a small fraction of the cost of replacing the laptop. Reliable, trustworthy service. Help out a local company and ignore Apple's self-serving customer "service."
Dropped off my computer to have a power problem fixed. Turns out it was both the adapter and the connection. They were fixed in a few days. Prices were reasonable and I would go back there again. The couple are very friendly people too.
I am a teacher and this was my third computer screen issue. I was about to purchase another computer. Mr. Zarei assured me that it wasn't necessary and that my computer could be fixed. I went to a popular brand store that told me that my computer couldn't be fixed. Not only did Mr. Zarei fix my computer, the turn around time was fantastic! I dropped it off at 9:30 and got it back at 12.00 pm. AWESOME!
I'd give him zero stars if I could. It was a scam. He asked for $100 down to get data off 2 hardrives. He couldn't do it for $100 and then asked for an additional $250 to get the data off. Money back guaranteed if he can't get the data off, but it's a huge rip off. Don't go here.
