Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument

This has one of the best vistas of the James River Deep Water Terminal area. Very historic Victorian houses and park. If you are into cross fit training, THIS IS RICHMOND FAMOUS SPOT for running up and down the 4 LEVELS OF STEEP STAIRS! Not for the OUT OF SHAPE :)

This statue is gorgeous and I do not care who it represents. If you all would like to change the name of that Monument to a more fitting name I would be more open to that than completely removing it seeing as this Monument does not have an actual person's name. This could be made into a memorial for all of our nation's Wars instead of just ripping it down. Art should not be destroyed. Especially artwork that looks like that and took a lot of time and effort to put into. The first time I saw that statue my uncle said they are taking it down tomorrow. I said why. He looked back at me and said the guys got to use the bathroom he's been standing up there forever. This was obviously you and I was a small child but can honestly say I have never looked up at that statue and thought once about it being a Confederate statue. I just always thought it was a really unique and Tall statue.

Beautiful views of the city. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the peacefulness.

This is an interesting place to visit. You may be suprised that it exists. Nice statue and s all green area right in the middle of a nicely re-energized part of the city. There was a time you wouldn't walk here, but that has definitely changed. Neighborhood frll, local business and a great view of Shockoe Slip and the Shiplock Park.
