Monument Avenue is absolutely beautiful. Amazing homes, churches, and obviously monuments. General Robert E. Lee is a hero to many in Virginia and the monument was erected to show the respect such a great man was due. I would encourage anyone who is interested or unfamiliar with our history to research the life of Lee. Before and after the war. You may be surprised that what you learned in grade school was not accurate.

Why waste a beautiful concept honoring traitors to our country? This is one of the most scenic drives in the city. Too bad it glamorizes treason.
