Reviews
The only reason I'm writing this review is because i saw there were so many negative ones, and I don't think they're deserved. What people need to understand is that this vet costs more because they are a 24 hour emergency service. The staff was extremely polite and caring to me, my family and my cat. Every single staff member there expressed that they were sorry for our loss after having to put my cat down. The doctor did a great job diagnosing my cat and making him comfortable. The procedure that my cat would have needed was expensive because it just is an expensive procedure not because they have outrageous prices here. Ultimately it was kinder to my cat to put him down, and the vet made sure that choice was as comfortable as possible for all of us. They also sent us a card which everyone at their office signed for our cat, which was a really sweet extra step to do. The only thing I would dock a star for was that they didn't bake my cat's paw print for us and I had to do it myself, but I think that could have been because i went to pick it up early. I take my pets to a different vet for regular care. But on a Sunday in an emergency, I would recommend this veterinary service to anyone. They're just trying to do their job, and sometimes they have to give bad news and high prices. That just comes with the territory unfortunately. Everything else was a very positive experience despite the nature of our visit.

My German Shepherd choked on a kong ball and it lodged in the back of his throat ...we drove as fast as we could to get here to save him ..we walked in and the techs and the vet jumped right on it ..I called ahead of time and they took him right in the back and went to work on him . They kept me updated along the way ..I was frantic in the waiting room and the staff was beyond amazing ..after 2 long hours they came out and bounced me his ball and said he was going to be fine...they sent over all info to my regular vet right then and there so they would know what was going on . They are very reasonable with their fees ..I was impressed ..considering it was an ER..on a Saturday evening ..I was expecting a huge bill..thank you to everyone here for saving my Blaze' s life

The manager was rude, she told me I need to inform them that my dog is dog aggressive, which she has NEVER been before, I have other dogs! They proceeded to muzzle her which she’s never had to be muzzled before, she never has any problems at her regular vet. She was in pain, scared, and unsure of her surroundings. The manager was insistent that she’s dog aggressive, like she knows my dog at all! After we saw the doctor, he told me he was going to get medication for my dog, and then I waited in the room for 20 minutes and no one came in to tell me the medication was ready and that I could check out. The only reason why I found out the medication was ready is because I left the room.. Unprofessional and unorganized.

Redoing this post from two stars to four. The Doctor was quick in her response and was patient with my anxiety about my new kitten. Office staff and management still has a lot of work to do with training their staff appropriately with customer service, but my Doctor saved the day. Will be seeing her again.

We were faced with the unfortunate situation to put to sleep our 23 year old family calico cat Cooper.
We knew that the cat was ready to go in peace and Connecticut Vetinary Center was one of the few places open on Mothers Day.
They were also by far less expensive compared to the other alternatives and understood the situation.
Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and explained to us the options as well as the procedure.
We were then asked to come into the examining room once Cooper was prepared for the procedure.
Dr. Donald Cox immediately greeted us and was extremely understandable and friendly.
He explained and reasured us that given her current condition, that euthanasia was the best decision.
He was extremely comforting and nurturing and stayed with us to the very last second.
I could hear the Vet Techs in the background asking if he was still in there (our examing room) and although he heard them as clearly as we did, it didn't matter. He waited there till the very last second to make sure we were 100% ready and fully consoled.
He genuinely cared about our family pet and us and I will never forget his demenor and gentle heart.
Thank you Dr. Donald Cox and the Connecicut Veterinary Center WH staff for being in the right field that demands genuine care and comfort with our family pets that we love with all our hearts.
