Copycat Bar is one of the best bars I've been to in my entire life. Initially, I wasn't going to go because I was alone, but damn! I am so happy I did! The drinks are PHENOMENAL and I am not a huge mix drink consumer. I sat at the bar and asked for something, "Sour and doesn't include whiskey." My bartender served up three different beverages and all were outstanding & well balanced. While enjoying my drinks, I watched the bartender make several others and his passion was very obvious. Too bad I am unable to recall his name, but he's certainly a top notch bartender. In addition to drinks, I ordered crab fried rice to-go while I was still on drink #2, ordered drink #3 consumed it and the rice still wasn't ready! Overall, it took approximately 1 hour to receive an order of rice. The wait time for food was a huge buzz killer. I was told the chef only had one wok. I highly recommend this bar, just order your food immediately after arriving.
Upscale bar drinks but pretty reasonably priced. The bartenders seemed to love their job and were very friendly and attentive. I had a Jameson and ginger beer but my friends said the drinks they had were good and effective. They also have a variety of Chinese and other asian street food. The lamb dumplings and the skewers were not really enough to share so get your own. The couple next to us recommended the boa and the pork buns.
We came here very hungry after a long day exploring Washington. This was one of the few places open late, recommended by our host, reviews and pictures were promising, so we expected nice tasty dinner. The place is lively, nice vibes, very busy on Friday evening so we had to wait some time to be seated. We had to wait a while for the waitress to - she was running around trying to accomodate everyone. The food came pretty fast after the order. Unfortunately it was so crazy spicy that it’s almost impossible to eat. I can’t say anything about the taste apart from that it was incredibly hot. I had to drain my rice in water in order to be able to eat that.
We dropped in here for the first time with no expectations and everything, from the cocktails to the food and the service, was fantastic. The spot we had come to H street for had a really long wait, so we just walked down the street to see e what else we could find. We were so happy to walk into Copycat Co. and get some seats at the bar. It was just before 6pm so there were just a few spots to grab. The specialty cocktails menu was unique and each drink was well crafted. I had the Terracotta #2 and the Moloko one, both were really interesting and delicious. The second was a suggestion from the server, which I really appreciated. With such amazing drinks, the food didn’t have to be as delicious as it was. But it was. The walnut shrimp and fried rice each packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. And the chili oil on the wontons wasn’t messing around, so good. Even when they were really busy, the bar staff and service was 10 out 10. We can’t wait to return!
Hands-down best cocktails in the city and fantastic service by our waiter Drew. It's amazing they make their own ice by hand, you can taste the attention that goes into the ingredients. The Moscow mule tasted like it was made with fresh ginger juice instead of ginger beer, which might not be to everyone's taste. The back patio is nice, especially when it gets crowded indoors. Can't wait to come back and try the food.
It was my second time going to Copycat yesterday and they never cease to amaze me. The taste of each cocktail is absolutely spectacular! The service, hands-down the friendliest. I live in Baltimore but I would come here every weekend if I could. Keep up the great work!
Great atmosphere! Nondescript, cozy and busy, because word gets out! The food was delicious, especially the beef skewers.. Pot stickers were really good too and so was the soup. My compliments to the bartender too, because the drinks were great! I recommend the old fashion for sure.
Amazing!! Speakeasy vibes with food !! Mariah & John were awesome bartenders! Try the piñata drink!! It’s huge and comes in a cute Death Star tiki glass. The food is open late & looked amazing too. Comfy and clean place. You have to go up the stairs to get to it!
I'll start with the spot. It's in a good location on the second floor with a nice view of H Street. The place is setup uniquely. Cool bar setup in my opinion. The staff are all very nice especially Eli. The drinks are phenomenal and some come in these really cool glasses that look like Jason, or Pinhead for example. I haven't tried the food but it looks and smells delicious. Lowered my review from 5 to 3 stars. Came in on a Thursday at 1140pm and was told the kitchen was closed. Their website says kitchen closes at midnight...
Definitely had an amazing time while I was there. I went solo and still enjoyed myself between watching the bartenders do their thing to the drinks themselves. The bartenders made sure I felt comfortable and even made sure my drink was covered if I had to step away really quickly. Will definitely be back!
