Cottins Hardware & Rental

As an artist, I find myself in hardware stores looking for all sorts of things, and often, the solution is in Cottin's. I really appreciate that I've never felt patronized or dismissed here, which is unfortunately a frequent experience at other hardware stores if you're a woman of smaller stature. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Definitely my first choice in Lawrence.

Cottin's is so much more than a hardware store; they provide real community services! They can pretty much tell you how to remedy any household or yard situation and how to use any tool or product in their store. They host wonderful farmer's markets with live music and have provided a public piano outdoors, for years. I know they were looking for a replacement for that piano and I hope they have found one. This place and the people who work here are real treasures of this town!

Best locally owned hardware store in Lawrence. Friendly knowledgeable staff, plus they host a Farmer's Market every Thursday afternoon all year round. Always buy local!
