Not at the restaurant per se but they had a food truck in Queens and the long line was what attracted me to Cousins Maine Lobster food truck. I ordered the shrimp tacos that came in 3, two Connecticut rolls, New England Clam Chowder soup, and the lobster tail with tots. The food was mediocre. Hmm, I feel that I’ve tasted better seafood elsewhere. Connecticut has great spots for seafood. The soup was creamy. Had enough clams and potatoes that it was balanced out with every bite. The lobster tail was small surprisingly. I didn’t think it was worth the price for the size of the lobster tail. The tots are like any other tater tots. Good in my book since I like fried foods. The shrimp tacos were something I wanted to try as I’m trying to search for good shrimp tacos but was not too pleased. Shrimp was quite small in size albeit, it did leave every bite filled with shrimp. I went with the Connecticut roll instead of Maine roll because it was a hot roll. To me, that meant loads of butter on a toasted roll. It was hot, but lacked flavor for me. I would probably go back and try other items to give them another chance but maybe at the restaurant instead of the food truck.
Had a craving for some classic New England seafood especially fried Ipswich clams since they are so hard to find in NYC. Gave this place a shot. Sunday early afternoon, the place was very lightly occupied. I ordered a crab roll, lobster roll and the fried Ipswich clams, clams came with fries. It took some time before the order came out, figured it was due to the clams as they seem to be made to order. Worth the wait. There was a little more batter on the clams than I'd like but it was tolerable as I got to fulfill my craving. I did enjoy the crab roll and my lady enjoyed her lobster roll. The toasted butter bun is a special technique they got right. The prices are very reasonable and the meal was satisfying. $7 beers and they accept credit cards. I did not ask about loyalty program but I think they'll have their repeat customers.
So glad I finally stopped in. Forget Luke's, this is where it's at for lobster rolls and everything else lobster. Delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices they even had a deal on Crave when I went. Its counter order, table delivery style dining. Though they did come by to check that everything tasted OK and again to clear my plate when I was done. Nicely done decor - retro/recovered look without being gaudy. I'll be back for sure! Visited the food truck located on 150th and 3rd Ave. I was pleasantly surprised at the delicious food. The lobster rolls are generously filled with lobster and are so delicious. The lobster tots and lobster tacos were really good. The lobster grilled cheese was delicious. If you are a lobster lover you will not be disappointed.
Very good flavors, very friendly and helpful staff. The price is expensive for the amount of food provided. We ordered a Maine roll, 2 bowls of soup and 2 fountain drinks, cost was $45+. I would recommend bigger portions if possible or a lower costing menu.
Don't waste your money at the food trucks. I went to the old Bridge food truck and its food was an embarrassment compared to the lobsters rolls and lobster grilled cheese in Maine. I would rather drive 6 hours to Maine and eat there. The grilled cheese had 3 pieces of lobster about half an inch. The lobster roll was 5 inches long with about 2 ounces of lobster. The price was to high for such a small quantity of lobster.
I visited their truck and everything was delicious. The best lobster bisque I have ever tasted. The lobster tacos are great and well as the Connecticut roll. I will definitely be visiting them again.
I want to thank the Mobile Truck staff for being out here serving the citizens of New York City. I caught up with the truck today on E. Gun Hill Road. The service is always very professional and I still enjoy my meal. Social distancing was encouraged. I will follow them to other locations.
The food is good, just be prepared to open your wallet. This place is similar to the Luke's Lobster chain, except the menu is a bit more extensive. Personally, I really liked the Lobster Tots tater tots with lobster mixed together. Again, the food is good, I just wouldn't do it everyday $$$.
