Cox must be one of the WORST internet / home security services ever. Ever since install in our house, we have had nothing but issues with the service. Our WiFi goes out about 5+time a day. When we chat because you can't call and talk to a person anymore they do the same thing. "Let me send a signal to your modem and restart it" we do that all day long. When they finally want to send someone out, they want to charge you $75.00 dollars in case is your problem and not theirs. They need to schedule it with a technician that is certified in homelife as not everyone is capable of working with cameras I guess. Anyways. the Tech gets here, and his answer is "I can't do anything as it's an outside issue. I will submit a ticket. Well - It has been two years, and NOTHING has changed. WiFi still going out about 5+ times a day. I will not recommend COX at all. This post may not go too far but, it's a way to let everyone know.
Cox internet service is horrific. We've had a 2 to 4 hour outage every night since the late July. It's now Sep 9th. Every night. No exceptions. Their phone menu options do not allow you to speak to a person. Do yourself a favor: Avoid Cox. Their prices are are high, their service is putrid, and customer service is non-existant. IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER OPTION, CHOOSE IT!
Spotty internet, rarely hitting the speed I pay for, and if you happen to use too much data, enjoy paying for it! If you have another provider option that offers fiber, go with it. I wouldn’t wish this company on my own worst enemy. Hopefully with Google Fiber coming into the area, it’ll shut them down.
I have been having intermittent outages for over two weeks. They first said they traced it to my house and it was my fault because there were loose cables. It still kept happening then they told my next-door neighbor they needed a new modem and they tighten their cables and it’s still happening nobody is giving us any answers and I think we need some monetary Compensation for all of this downtime
Unreliable service - too many outages in Elkhorn - why am I paying for services that are not available? Do I get a refund...no! Where is the redundancy? I work from home, and I need to have the internet - hey Cox this is your bread and butter...it's your job to provide stable internet access - you should be ashamed
Don't expect their customer service to be of any help, they always say they are the one to solve your issue but never do. I have been trying to solve my issue of not having the internet at all even though I paid for it for over 3 days. Absolute garbage customer service and internet I finally canceled and will go without internet since they are the only provider for my address. Other ISP companies please understand this whole neighborhood hates cox and even if you charged more we would use your service if it was functional
If there were any other choices for high speed internet providers, I would have chose something else. Prices are outrageous for the services they provide compared to competitors and you only get the good deals if your in a neighborhood with competitive services. Otherwise they just take you through the ringer.
Awful customer service. They claim they gave me a piece of equipment they never gave me. Started Ann investigation into themselves, and surprise, they found they gave it too me. Told me there was nothing I could do and I needed to pay or it will go to collections. I told them go ahead. Before I cancelled my cable because the box would always crash. Their solution. Bring it back to the store. Always someone else's fault Their equipment crapped out. Never theirs. They would offer to send a technician to check their equipment if you paid for them to come out. But if you bought insurance against themselves they wouldn't charge you. They are big and they ensure the customer knows they aren't worth their business.
I amended our COX contract to save $600 per month, so I was told. I have a signed contract that they have never executed. They've stolen $1800 over 90 days so far but I am assured I'll have a credit once they process it. Can't reach CS on phone unless you have 45 minutes to wait before being transferred to another rep who can't help too.
Working for Cox is amazing and I am so thankful that I found this particular job. It's nice to have my foot in the door with a great company who treats employees like gold. I love going to work every day and I have never been able to say that about any other position I've held.
