We live in Macon Georgia. We had an elevator installed by some one else. It never worked correctly and multiple people got stuck. Custom elevator drove to Macon fixed all the doors. Repaired miss set stops on 4 floors. The price was reasonable and he was more responsive than the person that installed it. He went above and beyond. If anyone wants to talk with me about our experience get in touch with them and I’ll tell you my self.

We had a Good Experience with Custom Elevators of Ga. Copeland was very nice and did a great job on my mothers chair lift. I feel so much better not that she can get upstairs and downstairs without falling. It was worth the money. I sleep so much better knowing that she is safe.

I'm a 64 year old quadriplegic man confined to a wheelchair. We bought our house the early part of June last year (2017). Mid June we contracted Copeland Johnson/Custom Elevator to install an elevator so I could have access to our lower level and the backyard and allow me to let our dogs in and out to the yard.
Between mid June and September 1st we paid Copeland and at his direction, a designated sub-contractor of his, $27,700.00 to install the lift for our move-in the second week of September. As of today, Feb. 27th 2018, 8 1/2 mos. after we started the elevator IS NOT FINISHED.
I am able to use it to move back and forth between floors but that's it. The unit is raw unfinished plywood with overly large and irregularly shaped gaps between the house floor edge and the front edge of the elevator floor when the door is open. There is no rub-rail, handrail or trim on the inside. None of the nail holes in the cabin have been filled and seams and joints in the cabin have not been filled or trimmed out. It has also not been stained or painted, stain was and still is our choose of finish.
NOr has the unit been inspected.
After weekly and in some weeks daily calls to Copeland, two workers showed up in mid January and worked for approx 20 minutes. One put flooring down (approx. 12 sq ft ) which we provided and the other installed 3 pieces of threshold trim (1 at elev floor edge 1 on the house floor edge at the door opening on both floors) to address the overly large and irregular gaps mentioned above.
One of these men said he'd be back in two weeks to finish installing rub-rails, trim, fill holes and begin staining the interior. Six weeks later we've yet to see him.
Frankly I'm scared of what would happen in an emergency like being stuck between floors for some reason. I've quit calling Copeland because he doesn't reply in a timely manner if at all.
Oh, one more item: the unit has never been inspected. It's time to call, ' Better Call Harry' at CBS 46 Atlanta and see if he's able to help us get this resolved. I'll keep you posted.

Brought my dad home from FL & the outside elevator just stopped. Remembered using Custom Elevator to install a couple years ago so gave them a call & they have me up and running. So thankful so my dad doesn't have to use the stairs.

We contracted Custom Elevator of Georgia for a commercial project of ours. The response rate while receiving pricing from Copeland was quick, along with the signing of the contract for his work.
Once installation approached, it became difficult to get in contact with him. Further, once the elevator was partially installed, it took months (not days or weeks, MONTHS) for our final install and inspection. It delayed the finish of our project by 3 months and became nearly impossible to reach Copeland. We would schedule a time with him, wait on the job site, and no one would show up. We would call over and over and have no returned calls, nor did he contact us to let us know he wasn't making an appointment.
The reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is due to the use of a used elevator unit that saved our owners money and, from Copeland's explanation after several voicemails, may have caused some delay in plans review. This does not excuse the complete lack of communication from this company and that is where the bulk our frustration rested.
