DC Diner on the corner of 13th Street and H Street NE is a diner with a big menu and cheerful and compact seating. The menu includes everything one expects from a diner in terms of breakfasts, ongoing daytime food, snacks and comfort food, in addition to late night munchies. This area has a choice of eateries to suit different wallets and surely persists for good reason in an end of town that seems to attract more interest. The cafe sports the most unique ATM I have ever seen.
Shrimp and grits were FIYAH! Really enjoyed our meal, although small inside and probably most suitable for carryout, the cashier everyone was really accomodating; my family of 3 was able to eat at the counter. My son TORN DOWN his pancakes... I ordered the aforementioned shrimp and grits and the Mister was happy with his grits, eggs and turkey bacon. I def keep this place in mind for late night or otherwise. I got some peach cobbler for later and will comment on that later
Couldn't get through to our regular diner this morning, so we thought about one close to home but it's not a favorite. We saw this on Postmates and thought, let's try it! It was very good, everything came nice and hot, the pancakes and waffles were great, we even enjoyed the eggs!! We will definitely try them out after the quarantine!!
First and last time going. I got a vibe that they didn’t want any customers, then I ordered the fish and it tasted like it was old fish that was put back in hot grease. It came out rubbery and paper thin. The grits were ok though.
The place is small. I think there were two, maybe three indoor tables and an additional four outdoor tables. But the food is absolutely delicious and also at a great price point the most reasonably priced sausage egg and cheese sandwich I've seen outside of fast food chains. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast served anytime, in case you get a midnight craving.
Woman was too busy arguing with her chef to listen to my order I ordered a fried chicken sandwich no toppings with cheddar cheese which I was charged extra for and chips. I received a grilled chicken with toppings no cheese and no chips. Then a nice little man comes out and “thanks you for your business” but they can’t even get orders correct.
Inexpensive down home eats. Clean fresh. Best part is the customer service! Sunday breakfast to go kinda spot. Wings and breakfast were tasty and filling. The prices is the cherry on top. You dont have to spend more than ten dollars for a down home meal.
Wow. Impossible to find a 24h place in DC and this place hits it right on the mark. Amazing spot, they have everything you want, great burgers, eggs, waffles and the corned beef hash is the bomb. The owner is also such a chill guy. Recommend to everyone
DC Diner is small inside with not a lot of seating but a cosy atmosphere. The food is super good the coffee is pretty standard diner coffee, I was happy with it. I got an egg sandwich on a bagel with extra cheese and it was delicious. It's now my standard whenever I go. I highly recommend DC Diner. The staff is very friendly and work hard to create a neighborhood vibe.
I ordered salmon cakes and grits. The grits were horrible. I'm not sure how grits could be bad from anywhere. The texture was good, but it was flavored with old butter or oil. The salmon cakes were old and over cooked. Maybe they were having a bad morning.
