Service was horrible, food was just okay. It wasn’t the normal dining experience that I have had at Del Frisco’s. We had a party of 7. The one vegetarian in the group ordered a salad no bacon her salad came with bacon, she ordered a cauliflower steak. After seeing cauliflower steak at other steakhouses I was really taking back this was not a cauliflower steak the normal mashed cauliflower in the shape of a steak. The cauliflower steak was a head of cauliflower cut in half. It’s like the chef quit in the middle of our dinner. I still cannot believe $40 for a 1/2 head of cauliflower. Everyone that ordered their steak well done got Med rare. Usually the waitress/waiter will request you to cut the steak to confirm its to your temperature and they will serve your sides. None of this was done. I requested the Gorgonzola fondue added to my steak. It was a tiny bit of Gorgonzola butter could barely taste it. Fast fwd to dessert and coffee. No creamer served we had to request creamer which still never came. A hostess happened to walk by and we had to request from her. The valet was also a nightmare to deal with. It was so backed up and took over 45 minutes to park with valet. We spent $1200 for 7 of us. It was a huge disappointment.
Packs a heavy price tag that being said perfection and excellence is expected. This was certainly a 4 star experience. Great service but our waiter barely showed up and felt as though he was reluctant to provide the extras like butter and bread. Other waiters that showed up in between were amazing and made up for that. Our lobster Mac and cheese had some hard bits in it and I requested 'medium well' slight pink on my porter house steak but definitively got a medium a little too bloody for me. Food took almost an hour to arrive but they were super busy. Even with all that the flavor was great. I will definitely return. The food is delicious but don't feel it's worth the hefty price tag though. We spent over 200 on what is pictured here. We were a party of 2. I had the porter house and my girl had the file mignon. With 2 large lobster Mac and 2 waters.
I planned for my husband's bithday for months and Del Frisco's was recommended to me by a friend. This was our first time here and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Joe, our server, was very attentive and informative. He understood the assignment! The meal was delicious and the bread was addictive! And to top it off, the strawberry Cheesecake was smooth and rich. Perfect ending to the night. My husband was very pleased!
Attended as part of an award luncheon. Downtown Philly is beautiful! Plan parking ahead and wear walkable shoes. A little tough to find as they have two restaurants at least nearby to each other. If you don’t visit regularly you want to follow driving directions carefully. The ambiance was nice. The staff was super nice and helpful as I was a vegan at a steakhouse. They never batted an eye and provided me with a tasty alternative. The program was excellent. The only downside was that there was some construction going on in another area. It didn’t seem as though they thought to provide some sort of sound barrier. So the saws and drills were constantly interrupting the speakers. That should’ve been prevented. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu but everyone at my table cleaned their plates. So I would say the food must’ve been pretty good.
Nice fancy but not super fancy restaurant. Well worth the money. Very clean. Very very friendly staff. Only open for dinner. If you're looking for a nice bottle of wine you've definitely come to the right place they have what you want, or by the glass. I recommend this place Parking: Inner city parking to me it always sucks. There is a parking garage about 3/4 of a block away from the front door.
We were excited to try the steak during our first time at Del Frisco’s. There was a group of 8 of us and the bill came to $1,300. We had a good bottle of wine from their vast selection and the cheese steak dumplings were interesting. The calamari was chewy, dry on the edges, and fishy smelling. Now for our entree- we ordered the Tomahawk for Two at $152, what a terrible disappointment. Instead of a nice 32 ounce intact steak like they picture on their website, we received a platter of fatty, sinewy slices of something resembling steak. Eating this steak, most of what I did attempt to chew and chew was spit into my napkin afterwards. This dinner comes with two sides. The lobster mac and cheese was disappointing, dried out, over salted and fishy tasting and not creamy and fresh like you would expect from an upscale restaurant. The twice baked potatoes were tasty but runny. Another steak costing over $60 that was ordered at our table was tough, sinewy and grisly and our friend threw more than a 1/3 of it away as he couldn’t keep chewing and spitting it out. We never expected a lack of quality at this level of dining and pricing. You shouldn’t leave a restaurant after spending that much money wishing you had ordered something different or gone somewhere else. On a positive note, our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive.
Upscale steak house situated in a building from 1922 where there was once a bank. Amazing architecture with over30 ft ceiling and a wine cellar in the middle. Bread served was butter and honeyed, interesting combination but a good taste. Rib eye was very peppery but great! Asparagus was also peppered but excellent. Service was great, kind and suiting. Great atmosphere for special occasions as well. Located in downtown Philly.
Just understand that my expectations going into this steakhouse were high. With the price, I expected to love everything I ate. My husband and I went to a cheaper steakhouse, and they earned their 5 stars. But Del Frisco couldn't even earn a 3 star. Let's start from the beginning. It's Valentines Day so I did book our table ahead. The person checking us in was rather rude. She told us to move away from the podium. She didn't even give us a chance to move before she stated that. The hostess was very nice bringing us to our table. She asked us about the weather and wished us a happy Valentines Day. She also complimented me on my nails. Once our waiter arrived, not much personality from him. Working with the public, its important to be in the moment. His communication was awful and barely smiled. I yearned for a different waiter but left it alone. The Valentines Day special was a no go. I am allergic to fish but shell fish is fine, onions, and my husband is just picky. He wouldn't go for the shrimp cocktail and isn't a huge fan of lobster. We went for the Double Eagle Table Tasting. I was so excited to try the creamed spinach but it has onions. Mashed potatoes? Onions. Wagyu meatballs? Onions. I guess everything must be pre-prepared. Ok. So we chose the thick cut Nueske Bacon and we were able to substitute with a baked potato. We did get an additional side of lobster macaroni and cheese along with creamed corn. We both ordered the filet mignon rare and medium rare, scallops and small lobster tail. The Nueske was too spicy for me. I could barely enjoy the taste of the bacon. Creamed corn, and the lobster macaroni were good. The staff brought out mashed potatoes, that was taken back, brought out a baked potato with chives, which made my waiter frustrated at the staff so he personally brought out the potato the 3rd time and that came out correct. Our steaks were an easy 3. Wow. I was so disappointed. This is a steakhouse!! My husband compared his to Longhorns steaks but I feel Longhorn was even better than this. The scallops were undercooked. I dated a chef.... they were undercooked. The lobster tail was good but boy, it definitely was small. The desserts were full size. We chose the strawberry cheesecake and butter cake. They both were okay. I've had better cheesecake from NY. Was this meal worth nearly $300 plus tip? No. Even the VIP cocktail was nothing to call home about. My family owned a lounge for decades and it was nothing to call my uncle about and say, "it was delicious!" I wanted an upscale Philadelphia Steakhouse experience. I was highly unsatisfied with this experience. This establishment is not kid friendly, or dietary restriction friendly.
Drinks were spot on Some of the food was a little over-salted buns and meat. I think they need to change the type of salt they use because it is really strong. Service was good. Wagyu steak was a little rough. The steak tartare was really good, but make sure to ask for a raw egg yolk. Overall it was an okay experience, but you are mostly paying for the unique environment - food-wise, Landry has better options.
Food here is overall very good. A little disappointed in the Prime Bone in Ribeye, not much flavor to it but everything was cooked to perfection. The dry aged Prime was good, though I sort of hoped the truffle butter & scallop topping the waiter talked about looked a little more like I was imaging Fish was good too, crab and lobster appetizers were great as was the bacon. Oysters didn’t disappoint either! Drinks were good too, didn’t have anything I thought wasn’t made well. Out waiter was great, friendly attentive and helpful for most of the evening. However, there are some things seriously holding the place back: The hostesses sucked. I’ve seriously never been to a restaurant where they couldn’t be bothered to take you to the rest of your party or at least tell them you had arrived, and there’s like a minimum of four standing around??? I’m leaving out some details but it just genuinely was a bad way to start the evening. And the worst part of the dinner, I’m seriously still broken up about this, we ordered like 6 sides for the table to share and when they came by to box meals and everything they just THREW THEM ALL AWAY. Including the seriously amazing mashed potatoes shallot potatoes? I forget but they were awesome, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, all gone. It’s not like they asked us either, we were shocked LOL. For as much as you pay I guess I just expected a better experience
