Department of Transportation Services New Brunswick

I am teaching on multiple Rutgers campuses. Still the Department of Transportation ticketed me for not having the parking hangtag. Note that I am allowed to park the car on their lots, because I teach for them. The appeal process is a joke. There is no way I can contest their tickets in court.

To preface this, I’ve been a student for 3 years and I’ve held both resident passes and commuter passes during those 3 years. @rutgers needs to fix the DoT; they’re super unfriendly staff, super unknolwedgeable, and super inconvenient for students to get to. Why is the DoT miles away from any campus at Rutgers? Why is it that we can’t do most transactions online? It’s nearly impossible for students to get there conveniently, and when they finally do get there, the staff are hella rude. It’s as if the staff hate working with students and only want to sit on their phones, except that the state pays them through taxpayer money and students pay them through tuition. There’s a very good reason why this department has ONLY 1 star ratings.

First and foremost I would like to be clear that I am a student who lives off campus and commute to campus via bicycle often. I also try to take the buses between campuses (with my bike.) . As such the buses are supposed to have functional bike racks on the front but on several occasions either had a broken one or lacked one all together, which means that I don't get to use the bus as they don't allow bikes on the bus, even when there are no other passengers. As a student who pays for this service though my tuition I would expect all the buses to be fully functional or at least that situations like above were only a freak occurrence. However today makes the 24th time in the last 4 months. This is a disgrace! A university of Rutgers' size and reputation should be much better!

Just the worst. All I wanted to do was get a car removed from my parking account after I sold it, and they asked for all kinds of documents (title and registration) that obviously I don't have anymore BECAUSE I SOLD IT. Now if the guy I sold it to does any illegal parking on campus, it will go on my bill. Thanks for nothing.

Disfunctional, the bus drivers don't understand the concept of a bus stop. They think if no one is standing in the middle of the road, they shouldnt stop.
