Desert Hope was an amazing experience with a bunch of great people to help get you thru your stay. The staff, nurses, therapists as well as the cleaning ladies do their best to help make your stay that much more comfortable! Take advantage of the resources and after care programs they have to offer it’s truly helped me get my life back on track and I couldn’t be more thankful!
I am the brother of the patient, and the one who is paying the bills for his treatment. I do not feel like I got my money’s worth. My brother contracted COVID while at your facility, and was placed in isolation with other patients who were also positive. Not only were they not able to attend sessions, because the equipment provided was sub par, this was never addressed by the staff. There are also not enough staff members for the patient load the facility has, and even staff there encouraged my brother to speak up about it. He is planning of filing a complaint about this issue. My brother also did not receive the level of care/resources he needed to be successful after leaving treatment. Due to this failure in care, he was drinking within 24 hours of returning home, and within 6 days of returning home he totaled my mother’s car, and was arrested on a DWI. He is currently still drinking daily and has stated that he did not leave there with any resources to help him stay sober
This was the best thing I have done for myself. It has helped me and my family reconnect and grow stronger. I consider it a life tuneup for me. I was in the Veterans Battalion at Desert Hope and am grateful for all the people there. Staff and fellow patients.
Very pleasant, calm, and professional. Staff is amazing and really care about what people have been through. I was treated with respect and kindness the whole time I was there. Excellent food and very clean living environment. I give it a 10 out of 10 on clinical basis and 10 out of 10 on hospitality
Ramon, Mike, Dayton, Chris, Mily and Fernando in the kitchen were amazing! I've never eaten so good in my life, my health improved so much from their meals I was able to lose weight and get my blood pressure under control thanks to them. They're all so nice they made my experience so amazing . Thank you so much!
Maybe a good place to detox cause it’s nice and clean, however the treatment is subpar at least. Got nothing from the classes. And their aftercare program is a joke. It’s more like a prison halfway or something in the hood with security guards. They say that 14 days is the average stay there. I can see why. Much better treatment facilities Available.
The facility had virtually zero communication although all proper documentation had been completed to allow communication. Countless phone calls were sent to voicemail with no returned calls. I have no idea how the “therapy” was since I received no feedback. We did not have success with this facility as they provided the family 45 minutes notice that our family member would be unable to stay in care and would be taken to a homeless shelter. I reached out to them and asked them to contact me directly long before completing this online review.
I was here at a very dark time in my life. The staff are all amazing. I felt very well cared for and safe. If you’re thinking about going here, bring a watch with you that is not a smart watch and also an alarm clock, those are the two things that I really wished I had.
Desert Hope kept me in detox for 22 days. Of course I felt much better after day four but the priority for Desert Hope was billing my insurance company for this high level of care. Multiple times I asked any and all staff why I was still in detox , and multiple times it appeared to be a mystery to anyone I approached. That was unethical and extremely distasteful. The cash grab by supposed medical professionals is beyond distasteful. I get it that rehab is profitable and business is booming, but shame on you.
Wish I could leave no stars This place has a hotline that lies and gets paid off sending people here telling your approved for 60 days then they tell you the day your leaving that what they told you is not true. Body brokering is an illegal profit scheme. Some rehab facilities use this scheme to generate an ongoing supply of patients—and their insurance money. They can't control covid out breaks and if you get it they kick you out. They wait till the day your leaving your leaving that day. Then they try to tell you can't go to the place there where you sending you. They don't help with after care. They'll kick people out with no where to go and don't even offer them a ride. There pictures online are not even the current building. They have basketball courts no basketball. Horseshoe rock pits no horseshoes. Volleyball court no volleyball. Save yourself and go somewhere else.
