Devil's Hopyard is a hidden gem! Best of all, it's free! Chapman Falls in Devil's Hopyard is usually flowing, except during droughts. The Falls are a favorite background for elopement or other wedding photos. There's a covered bridge too! Perfect for picnicking beside the stream under trees. Or you can rent the pavilion. Plan ahead; the Devil's Hopyard is popular during the summer.

An awesome adventurous trail! Many options available for trail at the same place. We chose the orange trail and looking forward to enjoy the yellow trail as well! It's also a good picnic spot for families; sitting benches available for family picnic. So even if you are not interested in trecking you can have fun time with family and nature.

Unique area with a waterfall, copses of different trees and a long winding path that leads to various caves naturally carved in a hillside. Good medium level hike that the family can enjoy.

In my opinion this is the most beautiful state park in Connecticut. Hard to find pay close attention to the signs.. No cell service out there so GPS may be no help.
Ferns and mossy pine forest, long marked trails, small open campground that seem to be one of the first the state closes or leaves closed due to budget cuts... The waterfall is ever changing and spectral, a place I visited most of my childhood... and got married here. I've been all over the east coast . This park is what makes CT home.

Can be very busy especially the falls, has some really vertical trails and some calmer trails. Nice but had lots of people when I went
