Discount Tire

I have had my tires rebalanced twice in three weeks. Neither time were they able to balance 255/70/17s. The sales and management staff are very friendly and willing to help you out. But it is pretty clear their technicians need additional training or their balancers need to be calibrated. I ended up taking my wheels off vehicle to another shop to have them rebalanced photos below with the wheel weights still installed at discount.

1: used to be reliable 2: lack of communication- employee to customer 3: inefficient I used to only use this location for my services but after my last experience I will be looking for a more reliable location. Communication breakdown from service advisor to technician I won’t name managers was evident and my tires weren’t rotated per my specification. Tires were incorrectly balanced and worse than before. This inefficiency kills productivity and costs the company more money, time and customer aggravation. I don’t need to touch on the appointment issue regarding wait times, the reviews say it all. In all, I hope the higher ups can bring some leadership development to manage operations better and be technically/tactically efficient.

Appointments mean nothing!! I waited 1.5 hours from my appointment time before my car was even taken into a bay. However - good prices on tires, the technicians are hard working and good at what they do. If you have the option your best bet is to drop off your car and pick it up later.

Had an interesting experience. Had tires rotated & balanced. The next day, I noticed the chrome wheel cover on the driver front was missing. Returned to determine if it was still at the store. After a brief search, the employee said he thought he knew where it was. I watched him leave the store, run around the building next door to a parked car, and return with the cover. I asked what happened and was told that it must have fallen off and an employee on his way to work found it. Humm, interesting explanation!

I visited at 10:15a, Friday 5/20/2022, for a tire repair screw in tire w/aggressive air leak. I was greeted promptly, and they were able to fix my tire, rotate, balance, and replace my cracked windshield wipers for an EXTREMELY reasonable cost. The gentleman who helped me was respectful, knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and smiled warmly. As a matter of fact, I noticed all of the service staff smiled and I thought that was really cool. This day/time, such is quite rare. When I need tires, I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!!! Update: 8/30/2022 -- I had another tire incident screw in tire, made an appointment, and was in/out quickly. There was no charge and the customer service received was impeccable!!! Max and Cody were so polite and professional. I travel about 28 miles to go to this store, and I will keep doing so for ALL tire related needs. Thank you!!!

Staff is pretty good but don't go there if you don't have an appointment even if it's to fix a flat because you'll be there for over 3 hours like me unless you got that kind of time to waste. My suggestion would be to have a section just for fixing flats and separate us from the ones buying tires and having appointments, same way the people getting air should be separate it's all about streamlining and getting people in and out quick. I go to this location a lot but I prefer Montgomery and more they seem to get it there. Overall it's ok.

I would definitely recommend having an appointment! And don’t go anywhere! Lol they told me an hour and a half so I walked about 20 minutes away then I got a text they were done with my car! I had to run back in fear they were going to close with my car but they were great!!!! It’s free to fix your tire if it’s an easy fix which is awesome Thank you discount !

I waited 20 min to get an air check and not one car moved. When I called to ask if it normally takes this long... I got "we're doin the best we can." I went on to explain that the individual doing the air checks disappeared into the office and had been talking to the same car for a long time. "We will get to you as soon as possible. " NEVER HAVE I EVER WAITED that long... not even when there is 5 cars in front of me. There was only one car in front of me. Won't ever visit this discount again.

Tried to scam me into buying 4 new tires. I brought in our car with a screw in one tire for a repair. I was informed that it was not fixable because the screw was too large and since the car is AWD would then need to buy a complete set to avoid transmission and differential damage. Upon inspecting the screw I thought it was smaller than the websites quoted requirement of 1/4” or less. I took the tire to Costco and was told by the technician that it was fixable and that he was surprised Discount Tire would not fix it because “we Costco have much stricter regulations for what is fixable .” The tire was repaired by Costco for $12 because the tires were not purchased there purchased at Discount Tire, a great deal compared to the $1000 in tires Discount Tire tried to sell me. Will never buy from or recommend discount tire again.
