I have been waiting for my mother who has dementia to be seen by these people since November, 2019. In December a nurse came and left because I was not there to sign the consent form, although I had emailed it to them weeks before this nurse came. After that it has become a true circus. They decide to make appointments without my knowledge and the day of, they cancel after I rearrange my schedule. I live two hours away. Good luck if you try to speak with a rep. TRULY THE WORST!!!
We only had a positive experience with doctors on call that is taking care of my father with Parkinsons disease. I was always able to get in touch with them either via phone or their app. Refills are very easy via app or via their answering service. Very easy to schedule an appointment. There is a monthly follow-up call on to see how my dad is, and whether any services required. They dont always have same provider see patient, as they have a wide range of providers, including doctors, nurse practitioners and Physician assistants. They also have wide range of services, including phlebotomy, ECG and imaging services. On most occasions i find doctors on call reliable and available when help is required.
If there was an option to post zero stars, I would. This place is the epitome of unprofessional, and quite frankly, I am not sure how they remain open. Following my experience, I plan to submit a complaint both to NYC/NYS DOH and Medicare due to the complete lack of professionalism and concern for the health of their patients. I will not go into the details to protect the privacy of my family member. However, my family and I were working on a Medicaid application. WE WAITED 3 MONTHS FOR THE RETURN OF THE M11Q FORM. During that time, there was countless un-returned phone calls and promises for the work to be done. Finally, after I threaten a formal complaint, the form is sent to where it needs to go. Now, we heard back from Medicaid that the form is incorrect and now again, we will play the game of leaving voicemails with no returned calls. Obviously, this is delaying much needed care and services for my family member, jeopardizing her health outcomes.. which is what a place like this should strive toward, right? On top of all of this, my family is promised certain prescriptions and other medical supplies when the doctor visits. However, the medical supply store never receives the order. But, hey guess what? We can call the office and have them redo it? Good luck getting someone to return your call. As a professional in the healthcare field, and now pursuing an advanced degree where I am studying laws and regulations, I find the performance of the facility disgusting and hope that action is done to prevent such chaos for another family.
I am struggling to understand what happened here because when my 95 year old grandmother - called her PCP to make an appointment - after a terrible fall - no one called her back. The PCP or PCP company instead recommended Doctors on Call - OR it seems he has merged with them. NO ONE called her back - although she called 4 times. Her ailments went untreated. When I found her in compromised state, I immediately called the PCP to be referred again to Doctors on Call. After a half hr wait they arranged for a doctor to come in TEN days time. When we threatened a law suit a doctor showed up that day. Cannot speak to the level of the doctors but the organization seems beyond repair.
My experience with the doctor are good, but coming to the phone call trying to get phone service is worse ever. They have you on the phone for hour . I been waiting to get medication and no response. Am planning to change this nightmare. I need refills and no answer than a record comes to live your message that I’ll call you back and no one does. They need more operator’s to answer phone. I get on at 8:35 this morning and is 10:16 wow . And this is very day no matter what day.
Out of 4 different Housecalls experiences Dr On Call showed more compassion and would be the choice I would recommend. More people who have good experiences should take the time to leave ratings. Healthcare is a hard business - compassion matters when someone comes to your home.
So sorry -they shouldn't even get ONE STAR!!!! Just to let you know I had to put in a star in order to get my review posted. I have been calling this company for four weeks to get a doctor/nurse practitioner to see my mother at her home - but it is not happening!! The agent gave me a date that the NP would come to visit my mother but they never showed up. To date my mother has not been seen by any of the doctors.I called the company and they said THAT THE DOCTOR CAME TO THE HOUSE AND HE EVEN MADE NOTES. I was at home that day and no doctor or nurse came. This is so ridiculous! I really begin to think that they are frauds!!! I'm so done with them.. I am looking for another company that can help me! Stay away from them, people!!!!
I've been using this home care service with only P.A.'s for 9-years. Three years ago they started getting BAD. Two years ago they took away my regular same P.A. every month for 6-years because "she was switched to work in Brooklyn only". So I told my PA that I'm writing the Owner about this, she said "great, because I HATE this new schedule!". They ignored my letter. Then more than half of their P.A's QUIT in the last year. So I've seen 6 different P.A's in the last 8-months??? How can different P.A's that don't know the 1st thing about the patient they are about to see perform Quality Health Care? I have three different Neuromuscular Diseases two are autoimmune diseases as well? So they can't treat me correctly! Then I recently find out from my Pain Management doctor they had me on TWO medications that made my fatigue far worse than it should be with Advanced Myasthenia Gravis. I had been over suffering for YEARS because DOC has no idea what Myasthenia Gravis is no matter how many times I explain it to them in detail! I go off the two meds and my fatigue was reduced by at least 25%. The meds I stopped won't harm me by stopping either, and there are proper substitutes. They refuse to send the correct paperwork Elizabeth DeValle to get my Medicaid Spend Down program active I've been fighting to get them to send me copies of the original bills they send to Medicare for over 2-years. They do this ON PURPOSE because Medicaid only pays they 20% OF 20% of the copay, but they can charge me the FULL 20%. How's that for fraud? But I can't sue because I have no one to help me- and then who else can I use for a home doctor? Now their automated phone service is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Regardless of what day or time, YOU WILL HOLD over 15-minutes hearing the same UNTRUE automated message over & over before getting a human! That's unheard of for a medical practitioner service. I'm physically disabled and can't hold the phone for long. They couldn't care less. BTW- They were just bought out by a West Coast company, this could explain why service has been SO AWFUL for the past year, but how long does it take to get their act together. THESE ARE VERY SICK PATIENTS THEY DEAL WITH, YET OWNERS HAVE NO EMPATHY AT ALL!
Absolute horrible and unprofessional service from this agency. They have no people skills and could careless about their patients. The Nurse Practitioner was clueless seemed as if she had no medical background. Not to mention their answering service. They have you on hold forever then never return calls. I would not recommend Doctors on call. Zero stars!!!
This organization needs to be investigated by Medicare and put out of business. Absolutely no regard for the patient. Appointment scheduled and no one shows up and impossible to call back to reschedule. Peoples lives are at stake and they don''t care. Bordering on the criminal! Zero stars!
