Due to a flight delay and missing my long haul flight, United put me at this hotel. The hotel is actually beautiful and well designed, it's just a bit dated and tired waiting for a makeover ?, but still nice Location is very near the airport. The staff were friendly, though the restaurant seems to be very short staffed. The front staff are professional, efficient, and kind. Arriving late at the hotel, everything being closed, the manager took me to the bar and offered me, free of charge, something lite from the bar fridge and I accepted a yogurt. My room was pretty nice and very quiet. Yes, the room and bathroom are dated, but are spacious and comfortable. Everything I needed was there. I was able to get a toothbrush from the front desk. The beds are very comfortable and that crisply ironing linen is wonderful. The next day I had lunch and the food was delicious and didn't take long to arrive Rooms: Very large and great beds Safety: Felt very safe as a solo female traveler Food & drinks: Delicious Noteworthy details: Free shuttle to/from the airport. Only a 10 minutes ride.
We stayed here during a shopping trip in NJ: the stay was WONDERFUL!!! The hotel is just so beautiful and well designed. The staff were friendly, professional and engaging. Miss Jessica was just AMAZING; During Check-in, she greeted every customer and handle all of the guests concers with ease and efficiency. Our room was CLEAN, SPACIOUS, and COMFORTABLEespecially the PLUSH PILLOWS. My only negative is, there was no microwave or refrigerator in the roomit would have been nice to have those. Other than that, the HILTON lived up to its BRAND & STANDARD. This is why I prefer HILTON HOTELS hands down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location.
We stayed in room 540 on the night of July 28th. The people at the front desk were very accommodating, I had asked for some extra bath towels, and for someone to unbolt the balcony door so we could open it it is bolted for safety unless you request it open. They sent someone immediately, awesome service. The room was comfortable, the beds and shower were fine, and the layout and architecture of the hotel are quite interesting. The building is fairly old, and it does show it's age here and there, but is decently maintained. Our only complaint would be that the on-site restaurant is expensive and slow, but at least the food was good. There didn't seem to be any other places to eat within walking distance. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
Stayed here for a night before heading to our vacation destination. The hotel staff were pleasant and lovely, what was awful was the noise. As others have said, you can hear everything going on outside and around your room. Further, the rooms are really starting to show their age and need updating. I know it’s par for the course with hotel food, but it’s worth mentioning that the prices at the restaurant are outrageous. We paid $70 including tip for two sandwiches and two drinks. That’s absurd. Again, the staff were great, but we will not be staying here again.
I was at this hotel this past weekend for a conference that I attend every year. This was the first year and the last that the conference will be held at this hotel. Some of the staff that I encountered in the hotel were nice and helpful, but the manager at the front desk and the staff in the parking lot were not helpful and even rude during some of our encounters. This conference is usually well attended and executed with excellence. There were over 300 women there this weekend and the service was at most, subpar. That applies to the food that I ate for lunch on Saturday as well. The food was not good. I did enjoy the cheesecake though. I will not be going back to this hotel.
Flew in last weekend and staff were super accommodating at 7AM with my two kids and let us check in right then when the prior booked hotel didn't work out. They were super accommodating with check out too as we had a certain request. Room was nice, atmosphere, overall was nice too. We will be back again on one of our weekend trips into New Jersey/New York.
* Check-In: Wasn't as smooth as I'd thought it would be. I called the week I was supposed to check in as well as the day I was supposed to check in to make sure I would be able to split the security deposit on 2 cards. I was told yes both times since the reservation, payment details, and check in person were all me. When I arrived, I swiped one card and the front desk associate manually entered my second card. When I checked my account the next day, the $300 deposit was taken from one card. When I called down to the front desk, another associate said they could see where the card was manually entered, but it did not go through. I tried asking if they could refund half and recharge the other card, I was told they weren't able to. I asked if I could replace the card and was told an additional security deposit would be charged if I did that. * Room: Very outdated. The shower ceiling seemed to have some rough patches that they tried to cover up with paint. The sink clogged up so many times during my stay. The LG TV had very limited channels. The phones don't dial the extensions labeled The Bar, Room Service, etc.. Instead, it dials to the front desk every single time. The thermometer was very busted up. It took a lot of strength to press the buttons hard enough to change the temperature. No wash cloths were given, only 2 towels and 1 floor mat during my 4-night stay. * Staff: The front desk associates are very rude, however, the restaurant staff are very sweet and helpful. When I called room service to order lunch, the front desk answered and transferred me over to The Bar. After waiting on hold for 5 minutes, I was automatically transferred back to the front desk without knowing. When the same associate answered, she caught an attitude telling me to just come downstairs. Once I told her that I didn't call back, she tried to cover up her attitude. * Incidental Charges: I was overcharged for the first morning I ordered breakfast at The Bar. I had to call Hilton directly to have this charge disputed and corrected since neither the front desk associates nor the accounting department wanted to answer. Hopefully the third receipt I receive will be correct because this is truly exhausting. * Housekeeping: I'm not too sure if they only come when guests check out, but no one came by. Not even while I was gone.
The staff is wonderful and very accommodating the the needs of the guests. Only reason I didn't give a five star rating is because I found an empty water bottle on the floor of my room when I checked in. After a couple of days I requested to have my room cleaned and the same water bottle on the floor was still there. Other than that I had a great time speaking with several staff members. I will be back again.
Do not stay here if you have other options. Terrible service. We requested housekeeping everyday for 3 days and no one came! We even reminded them on the third day before we left. Terrible service! When we arrived late at night and I called the front office, the lady just told me that there's no housekeeping and I said there's no towels and toilet papers and she just said she should get someone to get it to us. The right answer should be what should you guys do to make it better for your customers not tell them there's no housekeeping right now! She didn't even bother to ask if we need toilet papers and towels, I was the one who told her that! Horrible customer service from that lady. I'm so disappointed big time!
Pretty run down for being a double tree. No free breakfast , no free coffee. Expect to spend $20-$30 per person per meal at this hotel. Parking is not free. The rooms have no fridges and no microwaves. Definitely an airport hotel, made for people staying on layover 1 night in Newark
