I am a professional pilot. So I stay in Hilton properties a lot. By far this is the worst home 2 property that I have stayed at. As a diamond member we are supposed to receive something and it depends on which property you're staying at however during this visit the person at the counter was not interested in providing anything. Only after I queried him was I able to get some of their "freebies". The parking at this location is terrible, this is the first time I have encountered a Hilton property that does not have special parking for their diamond members. The room did not have proper towels. Did not have a hair dryer. And the air conditioning unit was non-functional. When I asked the front desk in the morning the manager said sorry with nothing more to say. It was necessary to inform Hilton corporate as I was concerned that management didn't take my concerns seriously.
Good morning I would like to acknowledge the front desk agent Phyllis. She is what all hotels should have, she can teach most of these front desk agents on how to be polite, kind and most of all patient. She has a very delightful demeanor about her. Most hotels I’ve been too the agent at the front desk are so impatient and so disrespectful. This is not the first time I’ve encountered this pleasant lady doing her job and loving every moment of it front my point of view. You can tell she truly likes what she does. About the rooms are always clean and fresh smelling. I like that they serve free breakfast, hot coffee, tea etc. The rates of the room are not too bad. All in all i do enjoy my stay at this hotel and it’s always my first hotel of choice. Being that I’m always on the go from from state to state on business it’s nice when I land in Newark and Homes To Suites has available rooms for me to stay. Keep up the good job and do everything you can to keep the overnight front desk agent happy she’s again who you wanna meet and be greeted by after long hours of traveling. Unlike so many other rude agents I’ve sadly came across. Great job Phyllis I hope you’re being acknowledged for your dedication towards great customer service. Thank you Happy guest. Rooms: Always clean and fresh Nearby activities: Lots to do Safety: Safe and friendly Walkability: Close to major public transportation Food & drinks: Free breakfast etc
Definitely not up to the quality of a Home2 Suites or Hilton brand. I've stayed a lot of Home2 Suites and I was shocked at lack of cleanliness and just complete state of the rooms. It was almost equivalent to a 2 star hotel. The first room had substantial damage to it see 1st pic and was disgustingly dirty. I went to front desk to change rooms and luckily another room was avaliable. While this second room was better than the first, it still had issues. For example, lampshades were busted, significant table scratches, dirty and damaged windows shades, dirty floors, and. dirty couch. I feel like I need to shower to just wash off the dirtiness present from this hotel and that is not something I would normally say about a Hilton brand hotel.
This hotel stay was due to a canceled flight and being budget conscious. If not for that, this would not have been an option. The hotel grounds aware mediocre. No views, but there is a prison behind the hotel. The hotel didn’t look dated from the inside lobby however, upon entering the room, it was abundantly clear this was not a great place to be. The room looked dirty. The quilts didn’t convey any type of luxury or comfort. Honestly, I didn’t want to use the bathroom inside the room without proper PPE. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING happening around you, which doesn’t make for sound sleep. The shuttles to the airpot are a joke. They have very old vans that seat 6-7 passengers. The max should be 4-5 if you want to be comfortable. We had 8 people in ours; someone had to sit on a lap! The employees at the hotel were friendly, which was nice. This hotel stay was not great; especially after being stuck in the airport for most of the day. 1/5 stars is being generous. Rooms: The rooms don’t felt clean. They have a twinge of dark, dirtiness. The hallway to your hotel smell like smoke and cleaning products. Nearby activities: Nothing. If you aren’t familiar with the area, I was strongly suggest hiring a car service to get to your destination. Walkability: Non existent. You can walk around the hotel grounds, that’s about it. Noteworthy details: The hotel was not “Hilton” quality. Imagine the most mediocre hotel you’ve been in. Now slap a Hilton name and logo on it.
Had a very Great time over here. Encompassing every aspect of this Hotel was truly a delight to experience and explore. The staff were professional, quiet, Mindful and On top of that, willing to go the extra mile to help you and provide more insight about any concerns presented. Food was quite Hearty and warm and had a good meal schedule behind it. Cleaning, Heating services and Room service were great. Had a premium experience going to a luxury of sorts. Rooms: Clean, Well Furnished, Well equipped, Heated and Quiet. Safety: Special Thanks to the Hotel Administration for the Routine inspection of adequately armed Officers being in the Hotel Lobby and entrance for safety purposes and Them being Observant yet Respectful. Walkability: Facilitation for Luggage Transportation by the Bell Staff and Wheel Chair Ramp Facilities were present. Very satisfied. Food & drinks: Warm, with a good amount of variety, Healthy and adequate. Noteworthy details: The Reception staff were very polite, Helpful and cheerful. Professional was displayed and Held to the best possible standards in the face of any concerns, Challenges or needs. Truthful and Humane staff and Valet services were jolly, warm and Nice to interact with.
Hotel was decent and located conveniently to Newark Airport. Room was clean and modern, one issue I had is my wife and kids were excited to use the indoor pool after a long night at the Devils game, however we called the day prior to our stay to ask if the pool was open, the front desk claims it’s closed for “renovations” for the past 2 months, yet at 6PM there are kids literally swimming in the pool, it was supposedly a swim class, and no “renovations” to be found, it was in working order. If they need the pool for the swim class, at least be clear with your guests that a class is using the pool, why do you feel the need to lie to your paying guests and tell them that the pool is undergoing renovations when the pool is in proper order with no work being done? That sort of breaks the trust between this hotel and the guests. So if anyone is wondering, the pool is in working order, it was used for a swimming class.
Rooms looked a bit rough. We had to change rooms as the original room on the 3rd floor was just too much. They accommodated us and moved to 1st floor, which was in much better shape but still had some issues. Rooms: Need refurbishment Noteworthy details: Staff was helpful and attentive
So early this morning I check into the hotel the front desk lady I can't remember her name ,but she worked at my time if check in after 5am please she deserves to be a supervisor or something she was so pleasant, kind and very helpful. She has such a beautiful sprit, not very often you walk into a hotel and front desk treat you as kind as this lady did. Wish I remembered her name as I don't want anyone else getting credit for her sweet ways, she's was super helpful. But what pissed me off was that it was mins to 9am and the cleaners have no respect for the guest as the make much noise talking loudet etc. It's as if they upset that they gotta clean up after the guest I mean like I was tired as hell and I was woken up by the fact that they were so loud like dam the walls are already thin and you can hear everything, but to make things worst the cleaners moving around and being loud in all that they do while others are still trying to get rest in totally annoying. I was about to come out of my room and make mention, but I'll do this review I stead I'm sure I'm not the only one that can attest to this. Other than that the hotel is beautiful overall very clean and always smelling fresh and nice very comfortable as well. Rooms: Very clean, fresh and nice smelling, very comfortable.
Easy access. The good smell when you enter is welcoming you to stay long .As a diamond member we went straight to our room very clean like the big microwave and dishwasher. Nice studio and love all the details ,washer ,dryer, hot pool ,workout room ,breakfast and most important thing you don't hear airplane noise knowing that the airport is across and cars from highway
I recently stayed at a hotel conveniently close to the airport, hoping for a comfortable and welcoming experience. While the rooms were indeed comfortable and the parking lot, albeit small, served its purpose, my overall stay was marred by disappointing customer service, particularly from the receptionist, Depe'sha. As a Diamond member, I expected a certain level of hospitality and recognition. However, Depe'sha's unfriendly demeanor and lack of warmth made me feel unwelcome from the moment I stepped up to the desk. Her attitude overshadowed any positives about the hotel, leaving me disappointed and frustrated. Furthermore, during my visit to the market, I interacted with Jasmin, who was stationed at the front desk. It became apparent that there is a need for enhanced training in customer service across the entire staff. In conclusion, while the hotel's proximity to the airport and comfortable rooms are noteworthy, the glaring lack of hospitable customer service, especially from Depe'sha and Jasmin, leaves much to be desired. As a Diamond member and a paying guest, I certainly did not feel the warm welcome and respect that should accompany such a status. This hotel has significant room for improvement in its customer service department.
