I wasn't blown away by what many people said was the best ice cream in Florida. The line in the front led me to believe the hype. It was about 15 people deep when we arrived. The pricing is very fair for what you are getting. I got a root beer float, my wife got a hot fudge brownie waffle bowl and my daughter had an oreo shake. The float was average, the Oreo shake was FULL of bits and pieces of Oreo and my wife's sundae was the focus point of everyone. It was damn good.

A classic and historic Jacksonville dessert spot. Expect old-school ice cream stand feel with amazing milkshakes, malts, and sundaes. They don't skimp on toppings. Expect your strawberry malt to be loaded with strawberries and the cookie dough milkshake to have a fistful of cookie dough. Spoon required.
Cash only, so bring some paper.

I am BIG on customer service. My husband and I went there to order ice cream for ourselves and the kids. We both brought a brownie sundae with multiple toppings. Once back in the car my husband noticed his was missing the brownie after taking two bites hoping to get a taste of the brownie. By this time I have not had a taste of mine, so he had me check for my brownie which I was missing. He went back to have them remake it with the brownie, which they said he would have to pay additional for the brownies and they would put it on the side. He refused rightly so.... So I seen my husband was getting quite annoyed, so I kindly ask the worker to explain the logic behind repaying for their mistake. He explained that the female worker did not charge him for the brownie sundae correctly. Once again a fault of their own. So in the end they refused to make it again and instead refunded our money. Which in the end they lost out twice (with refunding the money, and wasting the ice cream, which we left). It was quite disappointing that they would not do right on their own mistake. They have definitely lost a customer. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME THERE. Hopefully this helps someone, if you are thinking of approaching them with a mistake. I hope this behavior was just an accident on the employee and that the owner does not condone such behavior.

Jacksonville favorite. Break out of the Nat'l chains and enjoy good hometown ice cream. Generous portions at a great price. Fast, friendly and a childhood memory maker.

Definitely on the short list for the best ice cream in Jacksonville. I prefer to get the cookie dough sundae with chocolate fudge or a dipped cone. It's a cash-only establishment, but it's surprisingly cheap.
