Duane Reade

I work a few doors down so Duane Reade is my go too when in need of certain things. I was in the store yesterday morning. While waiting in line to purchase cereal…a mouse ran by my foot and over by the cashier’s counter. They were just closed in the summertime because of the infestation. I’m afraid of rodents so I ran out of the store. I understand we’re by the water and every store restaurant etc may have them but when they’re running out in the open…it’s clearly a major issue.

Pharmacy is great, actual store is not. Customer service has always been terrible I'm a local and one of the ladies at the front in particular always has an attitude. Accusing the customer of saying no to a receipt when she never offered to print one to begin with, telling me I'll get a digital receipt in email when that's not even a thing, ridiculously impatient when I'm asking which product is half off, making you wait forever because there's always a technological problem or she doesn't know the answer to any questions thus have to ask store manager. Just went today and they only took cash for whatever reason and she proceeded to yelling at all the customers CASH ONLY CASH ONLY. ARE YOU CASH ONLY? NO? THEN YOU CAN'T BUY IT. if you hate the job that much you really should just quit.

Terrible experience with the pharmacy. Could not pick up my prescription because of server issue from their side. The person was not at all empathetic and very rude. My prescription has been turned down a couple of times here now due to their internal issue. I am changing pharmacies.

Walgreens Corporate, There has been an ongoing issue @ Duane Reade @ 52 River Drive S., Jersey City, NJ 07310. The pharmacy has been closed for 3-4 days @ least 3 instances in the last month & a half. The reason given has been staffing of pharmacists issues. In the meantime, I don’t own a car, so getting to another location is inconvenient. Walgreens, get it together! If it’s a money issue...Resolve it! God knows these essential workers deserve it. This has gone on far too long. Take care of it!

The staff are always incredible rude here, no idea why. Literally always in a bad mood.

Horrible experience. It took me too much time waiting for check out. And the system is not working. I didn't buy anything for half an hour because their system was wrong. It happened the third time.

Nice Pharmacy but is not that big like in other cities. I could not find what I was looking for and the answer for that from an employee was that they were a small store.

Always a long line. Sometimes I walk right out because it's not worth it.

This review is for the PHARMACY, rest of the staff here is accommodating and warm. The pharmacy staff is rude and condescending. Incase of any small issue, they love sending you back, without even attempting to look into the issue for prescription meds that you get from them regularly. Seems like they like saying no more than they like doing their job.

Nice clean organized store. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
