A perfect place to visit. I can't recommended this place enough. Family friendly. Amazing scenery. You learn about the history of the land and its environmentalism. Great staff. The cafe is so good. Fun biking paths and they have bike rentals. I can't wait to go back!!!

Reviewed May 11, 2016 Great for Families This is a great place to bring your family for an exciting day. 4 of us (parents, 5 year old and 8 month old with stroller) had a great relaxing day. We went there for approx. 5 hours, it is a pleasant hike, some trials are suited more for adults but the main paved trails are perfect for families with strollers or adults with wheelchairs. Make sure you visit the building with all the beautiful flowers, you can easily be just in that building for hours that's is how beautiful it is. At noon, waterfalls kick in and it is nice just to sit down and take a moment, listen to the water and nature. Bring your own food if you want to save some $. Employees were friendly at the main building information center.

Loved it. The gardens are nice. They're really trying to let a lot of land go back to its natural state which is very impressive considering the value of the land here in New Jersey. It would be a huge temptation for most people to sell this to somebody who is going to basically pave it over and put up condos at cetera. Doris Duke was a champion of the land itself and has really tried to do the right thing. They have also taught the people who work on the grounds and in the shops and restaurant about that Legacy. They smile, they're pleasant and they know what they're talking about. I think it's rare to find such competent people in all positions Also the food in the cafeteria is amazing. Not overpriced like I expected either. I had a wonderful day and can't wait to go back and explore more of the grounds

This place is amazing. Great place to bike. There is a bike rental place not too far a walk from the parking area. The roads are very wide. Take the family here and enjoy the day. Can do picnics. There is a deli there by the parking lot which serves some sandwiches and chili and a few variety of drinks. My suggestion is to skip the deli if you can. It isn't very good. There are bathrooms in the main building. You can spend the whole day here biking and exploring. It is fun, lots of straight wide roads. There is the stable and botanical garden and some other buildings to explore. Highly recommended.

Wow! This place is so amazing, especially since it's free!! Very well maintained. I went on a weekend and even though the parking lot was full, it is so big that it didn't seem crowded at all! Be prepared for lots of walking, Some water features and statues along the way.
