Dumpling Darling

Amazing. I love this restaurant. Staff is always so friendly and amazing, and always willing to give recommendations and help out with the menu. Food is incredible as well! Lots of different choices and variety, and everything is so good! Probably my favourite restaurant in Iowa City, would highly recommend.

Stopped here for dinner while visiting the university. Was looking for something unique, something that was not pizza and burgers and was not disappointed. Ordered two "buns" and a flight of dumplings. It was enough to feed two people and the variety of flavors was awesome! Very yummy.

I had the dumpling flight and cherry cream soda delivered via Chomped. Overall the dumplings were delicious, and the various containers were labeled with the correct pairing sauce. The only thing that detracted a star away from this was the fact that the soup dumplings had no actual soup in them! You could taste the pork and a hint of broth, but that delicious mouthful of soup you'd expect was nowhere to be found.

Amazing! Simply amazing. We got a few different kinds of dumplings and a bao bun. Our favorites were the Korean Chicken fried dumpling and the Pork and Cabbage steamed dumpling. So delicious and flavorful. We will definitely return and tell all of our friends. If you live in the Iowa City area and haven’t been here you are missing out! I will say we didn’t eat in because I wasn’t feeling well so we went for the carry out option, but the inside looks very cute and clean. The staff members were so friendly and kind enough to take the time to write the food labels on all of the boxes for us. What impressed me most was the carry out packaging. We try and live a low-impact lifestyle and try to stay away from packaging that can’t be recycled or composted. Everything was in a brown paper bag in brown boxes! The only plastic was the sauce containers. So glad to have found a business that is taking the time to think about better packaging for the environment. Great job, Dumpling Darling. We will return soon!
