Out of the thousands of people that use etrade...it is sad to see some bad reviews. I have used Etrade for years. They have been awesome. For retirement and other market trading. They even give me bonus money for free when I make a larger transfer. Free Money...how can you complain. Again, great people.

Customer service sucks. Put trading restriction on one of my accounts 5 months ago. Everytime I called customer dis-service they said account looked fine and would be cleared within a day. Promised callbacks never came. Filed FINRA complaint and WA securities complaint. Moved to Schwab.

I managed to stop an unauthorized credit card payment to them several years ago, when I did not even have any business with themno account, I don't even know what's etrade. And now, when I contact their customer service to actually open an account, I was told they won't do business with me. This is beyond my understanding. My only guess is they would put you on a list if you try to protect your money and they don't care if it's fraud. Customer service is also rude and not at all helpful. I asked how I can fix the problem or expressed my confusion as I never had an account, the guy just repeated the same thing of the company not willing to do any business. I feel both offended and confused. Great job E*TRADE, I would never do business with you and would recommend everyone around me physically or digitally, not to do any business with you. yay =>

Just lazy...Always throwing my money in sweep accounts...Holding money. No responses to emails. Limits not met. Money was held in limbo for almost two weeks after TRCH merger. One day I can transfer money and it's instantly available. The next day it's not. Selling orders/Sold orders are either funds available or they aren't. Yesterday I sold and funds were avail immediately...Today I did and they went in to a sweep account for god knows how long...100% will transfer my account. Also, my "rep" who was sooooo excited to work with me and then stopped returning emails and cut off all contact when I told him my account was less than 30k...Hahaha yeah etrade is not the best hahaha steer clear

Worst customer service ever. Will be looking to cancel my account in the near future. Trying to talk to someone is like pulling teeth and the automated help bot is oxymoronic. Disgraceful.

Great customer service! The reps have been very helpful transferring 401k from another brokerage and have reimbursed all transfer fees. They always return my calls same day.

Make sure you don't deal with this uneducated guy - Mathews Warth. I and my husband talked with him today regarding the promotion deal when you set up a new account. We told him Charles Schwab's promotion deal is much more competitive than E-trade and inquired him whether they can match with Schwab. He responded like this: "Feel free to move your money out to Schwab as we don't price match with any competitor. In the beginning of the conversation he stated 'if you can move in substantial money to him then he will write to management to find out whether he can reduce the fee." He talked in very impatient way and was awfully rude. Stay away from E-trade. BTW, customer service especially management level at Schwab is superb in my opinion.

Attention E Trade investors, never invest in E Trade. It’s the the worse possible company to invest your money. I don’t mean to impose but you will lose a lot of money especially during bad times. I had $28,000 n went up to 40,000 but now I’m at barely at 1,000 dollars. Unless you want to lose your money, DO NOT NOT NOT invest there but I’m NOT going to IMPOSE.

Every interaction I have ever had with people at this branch has been satisfactory. Needed assistance was delivered with a minimum of waiting and with a lot of knowledge and professionalism.

It’s an ok investment platform since they removed baseline brokerage fees and they have reasonable access to investment reports, etc. The main downside to E*TRADE is their money transfer policy which can see your funds locked up for up to 3 business days - extremely frustrating when your wanting to pursue a timely investment and out of sync with other brokerages which provide instant access to your funds.
