Eagle Nest Fly Shack & Lodge

I had an opportunity to spend 3 days with the guides of Eagle Nest Fly Shack while staying at the lodge. The room I was in was sparkling clean when I arrived. It was very cold on the evening of my arrival and they made sure the room was heated for me. As for their guide service I travel the country fishing with guides on a regular basis and this is one of my favorite group of guides. The weather threw us a curveball and conditions were tough but they worked extremely hard to make my trip a complete success and ensure I was happy with every aspect of my stay and my fishing experience. The lodge is classic, rustic New Mexico and the entire staff is wonderfully hospitable. Tim, Danielle, Kevin and Eric work very hard to make sure they do their very best at every aspect of the business. I will return!

Great place to check out, I buy most of my fly tying materials from there and very satisfied with it. They also do guided fly fishing trips around the area there. For example, Eagle nest lake, Cimarron river, Rio Costilla, possibly the Rio Grande, and other places that I'm probably not aware of.

Best Fly Shop in this Area! (Don't go across the street!!!) Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great selection of high quality locally tied flies that Work!!! These guys fish and they fish a lot... When you walk in with questions about the rivers and lakes in the area, what's hatching etc. the information they give you is first hand and not hearsay. Whether you fish small streams, rivers or lakes these guys will get you to the fish. They love what they do and it really shows. More than just a fly shop. Stay at the lodge and be closer to the fish. Possibly the most helpful thing is their after hours service. For those, like myself, that head out early and come back late, there will be a sign at the door with a number to call if you are in need of any flies, leader, tippet etc These guys really go the extra mile so stop by, get a room, take a guided trip or just say hello and share your fishing stories.

Great little shop with great people! The owner and staff are very friendly and the cabins we rent are always clean cozy! We have been there quite a few times and will continue to come back! Thank you Tim for making us feel very welcome every time we visit!!

The young guide picked a few flies for me and gave me a free map of the river. Huge help and I actually caught some fish! was so happy I stayed an extra night in Eagle Nest at their lodge. Very nice place and they had a campfire lit. Perfect experience and I will be back
