Beautiful place to camp but for a state park it is lacking. There is only one vault toilet in the campground, only two spots in the park to get drinking water and they are close to each other and there are no electric sites or showers. They call this developed camping but it is more like primitive camping with the lack of amenities park wide.

Had a awesome time catching fish and spending time with the family. Many places to choose from ad to where to fish from, we went towards the stream coming into the lake to try Salmon snagging. Man we has so much fun, took some time to navigate the ins n outs, the highs n lows, the back n forth of the stream, we were very fortunate to actually see some salmon but that was the easy part truing to snag then with a 4 ought treble hook was the hard part, but once we zoned in on it and worked in teams, Game over, that was so much fun!! to say the least, I used my Med to Heavy poles for length n strength, heavy but worked very well for us, ended leaving with 8 Kokanee Salmon in one day, had just as much fun eating them, very, very tasty. But lots to do at Eagles Nest, go and check it out, Let me know n I'll go with ya,lol!!

I'm sure I could give better stars, but as of right now there is a forest fire in Ute Park had has the lake shut down to boats and much of 64 is closed and you cannot reach it from I25. As of last night 27,000 acres was being consumed with zero contained.

Don't believe the fishing report. The guys at the bait shop give better reports than what is actually happening in order to get people up there. Lake was beautiful, but two days and nobody caught anything.
