We had an amazing experience here. Our server was THEE ABSOLUTE BEST! We can for dinner and drinks and this place does not disappoint. It’s a little tropical hideaway in the city. Perfect for a girl who has travel on the brain. 10 out of 10 I recommend. We had the Lobster Rangoon Croquettes… AMAZING! We also had the noodle bowl with pork belly and shrimp. I loved it so much I’m coming back next weekend. You now have a new regular! So happy I found this gem
Fabulous experience at SOS! Not only were the drinks delicious but also V strong. SOS was truly an experience. The bartenders clearly have advanced knowledge and skills. They had great recommendations. A must-visit in ATL!
I must admit, my first time actually getting into S.O.S. was for their Christmas extravaganza. It’s a full on scene with over-the-top decorations and creative and festive drinks. The drinks were great, the service was friendly. I plan to get shots next time so the toy train can chug down the length of the bar and deliver holiday cheer. I also want to experience S.O.S. after the holidays and see what the tiki bar is like without all the Christmas decor.
Entrance: on the side of the building of Victory's Sandwich Bar. Parking: a little difficult to find parking close to the restaurant, so we parked in a lot on Sycamore Street and paid about $5 for 2 hours. The parking lot is about 0.1 miles away. Food: we ordered the Lobster Kani Salad, Spiced Brisket, and the Chicken Teriyaki baos. The baos were small, but filled with lots of meat and veggie garnish. The chicken bao tasted odd and had a fishy flavor. We also ordered MFC nuggets, Longanisa Skewers, and Shepherd's Pie Croquettes. The croquettes are not on the menu, so you gotta ask your server for them. The longanisa skewers were sooo stinkin good...the sauces that were drizzled on top made the dish even better. My husband was obsessed with the lobster bao and the croquettes. The MFC nuggets were just okay --- go to a Korean restaurant for better Korean Fried Chicken. Drinks: we ordered the Black Magic, Zombie, Fool's Gold, and the Fogcutter. They all had very interesting and unique flavors, but also not pleasing at the same time. There are way too many flavors and it started to taste medicinal...like Asian medicines/teas. At times we were just forcing ourselves to finish them because we paid $15 each for them. Service: super friendly staff. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really nice and attentive. The bar was slammed with drink orders but our bartender was very intentional with making sure we were taken care of. Wait time: we came on a Saturday evening around 8pm and in freezing January weather. They had plenty of seating with heaters outside, but being so southeast Asian and hating cold weather, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated at the bar
Tonight was our first time visiting and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we sat at the bar, Justin greeted us and suggested drinks and food! Everything we had was delicious and we will definitely be back for the atmosphere, great food and cocktails, and amazing customer service!
I've visited this place a few times and it's one of my favorite tiki bars in the Atlanta area. Any drink you get, you'll definitely enjoy and the food was also great. We had the MFC chicken nuggets and the island shrimp. Ended the night with some tempura oreos with ice cream. Give this place a try, it will not disappoint!
Currently Christmas themed which only added to the awesomeness of this place. Everyone was in a great mood from the hostess to the servers and bartenders. Great music, great vibes, great drinks and although the kitchen closed while we waited an hr to get a seat : the food choices looked stellar! Also yes we did in fact wait for over an hr on a Thursday night so be prepared to wait but def worth it. Once you make it in you'll see why they have limits on how long you can stay at a table otherwise no one would ever leave! Special shout out to the hostess last night for being so cordial and accommodating to our requests!
SOS may be my favorite spot in downtown Decatur. The environment is delightful, drinks are special and a little "extra", and the current food menu has some fun snack options. Service has always been above and beyond. When they switch gears for Christmas, it's an absolute MUST. You won't regret it! My only qualms are the hours and inability to make reservations ahead of time. Expect a wait, especially since seating is limited compared to its popularity.
Great drinks. The best seating is definitely outside, but it was unfortunately raining whenever I visited — so plan to go on a nice day. There’s usually a wait on busy days because it’s a small bar but there’s plenty to explore nearby while you wait.
This is the best spot! Themed places are the way to go and this will not disappoint! The inside made us feel like we were transported to a tropical paradise. Our drinks were so delicious and the Maui thai was even lit on fire the food was equally as spectacular! Strongly recommend you to Lua aui over here!
