Sorry so Long, but it needs to be said. I went in today to become current on my private pilot license that I have had and used since January 2007 as part of the FAA part 61.57 regulations. Which is to fly as pilot in command before you can fly anyone else within the past 90 days. The first issue became apparent when Stephanie the account manager informed me that EFI Flight School lost all of my information in their computer system during their move. No problem we can update that. The second issue is you have to fly their aircraft every 90 days because their insurance company requires it. No problem, I already have to pay for Rental Insurance and now I need to fly every 90 days just to meet EFI’s insurance requirement for flying their aircraft. Seems a little redundant, but okay. Also, if you have not flown one of their aircraft in 90 days you are required to go up with one of their CFI''s to get signed off again to fly. So, I ask do you have any CFI’s to go up so I can get signed off. She says sure and tells me to go preflight the plane and Mitchell Nex will be my CFI for the flight. After 5 minutes Mitchell comes out and expected the airplane preflight to be completed. Needless to say, the introduction did not go so well during the preflight. I have never had such an unprofessional CFI in my experience. So, even before finishing my preflight inspection I canceled the flight entirely and wanted to let David Sowards the owner of EFI Flight school know exactly what his employees are saying and doing to customers. After a short conversation, it was apparent that David did not believe his employee would be so unprofessional and act in such a particular manner. Why would I lie? I have no upside to lie about a particular CFI or situation. I would not recommend this Flight school for renting any type of plan or taking private pilot lessons. If you want to spend your hard-earned money. I would highly suggest a different rental company or school who appreciates their customers and can provide exceptional customer service.
