Can I not give 1/10th of a star? That’s about all this place is worth. If you want to be a tragic weekend pilot then train at sunrise! If you’re looking for the start of a professional career, avoid at ALL costs. Old rubbish aeroplanes, rude staff and an owner (Michael Church) that doesn’t belong in aviation anymore. Saddens me I gave them even a tiny piece of business. However never fear, you don’t have to look far at SNA to find better. In fact, you just have to walk next door!

Schools should be open hearing students' goals not tell them how to spend their money or what they should fly in.
I can appreciate sound advice but I'm not 21 . Don't let them push you around.
I would not recommend this school.

The most informative flight school. Mr. Church knows what he is teaching. He has a great attitude with a few punny jokes as you go, usually requiring quick wit.

Disorganized and outdated flight "school" with aging planes and instructors. I am embarrassed I fell for their deceptive advertising.

I trained here in the 90s and continue to rent and stay current in their planes. The fleet has been updated with some DA-40s and a new simulator. I still fly occasionally with Pam H. and I can't imagine a better instructor. The place has an old school feel with a lot of history, and you can really see that pilot proficiency is their highest goal. Bring some dog treats for the office mascot and he will love you forever.
