I think you guys better close the ER when you don’t have a facility to take care of your emergency patients , I came to see doctor to ER for leg swelling they took all the reports and told me to wait after waiting of 2 hours , when I approached the nurse at next to the security counter I have to wait until the doctors sees the report , when I asked how long it will take she mentioned rudely he has to attend the patients who are coming from the ambulance, I haven’t heard any ambulance sound from last 2 hours. I fail to understand when you are not taking care of ER PATIENTS and not analyzing your patients traffic better don’t serve and don’t charge us for the ER rates. After writing this review I know no bady take care and some marketing guy will reply on your behalf saying that we are soory , please be sorry for your self at elcamino hospital
This review is for the labor and delivery department. The doctors are amazing and most of the nurses are great. Special shout out to Dr Green and her team for delivering my baby successfully via emergency c section. Only issue is that this hospital is a “baby friendly” hospital and they really really pushed breastfeeding, to the detriment of baby’s health and moms health. My baby went hungry for days and hospital did not offer formula or other options for feeding. They also didn’t support mom getting more rest after delivery, and instead pushed very very hard for mom to breastfeed even though my milk hadn’t come in and baby was starving. I’m not sure if the hospital reports on “exclusive breastfeeding” metrics in order to maintain their “baby friendly certification or something , perhaps it impacts hospital funding , but something is NOT right if baby is hungry and mom’s health is disregarded after delivery.
Came into the ER on a Sunday evening and waited less than 30 minutes to be seen. The entire staff was friendly, caring, and most importantly, decisive, on my treatment plan. The PA and nurses were very communicative and kept me in the loop as to what they were seeing / how they wanted to proceed. Long story short, I ended up getting transferred to an Operating Room in the general surgery area where the GI doctor, anesthesiologist, and nurses were also very kind. No one wants to spend time in the hospital, but El Camino Health is one of the better hospital experiences I've had. Thank you El Camino staff!
Nobody likes going to the ER, but my doctor was professional and they were quick to discharge. Unfortunately, the people in the billing department will make you angry. They are needlessly callous and rude and don’t take any time to explain things. My copay was over $3000 just for an MRI and X-ray. If I were rating them based on this department alone they would get a 1 star review. If you can, I would drive to Stanford or valley medical instead of going to this hospital.
My mother in law was taken to El Camino Hospital via ambulance on a Sunday night. They quickly ran tests on her and found she had a blood clot on her brain, a stroke. They immediately did surgery to remove the blood clot. 5 weeks later she is doing well and improving at home with therapy. El Camino Hospital was quick in their evaluation and to remedy the cause. They saved her life and we are grateful for that. That’s what a good hospital should do. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff from the bottom of our hearts. God Bless you all!
My child and I was rudely berated by a volunteer stuff the one who is supposed to politely direct visitors for the mere fact of being present in the facility. My child has now PTSD anywhere near this building, and we will have to consider another provider. Could be great if the management instructed their volunteers/stuff to not be overwhelmed by sense of power. Whatever needs to be communicated, can be communicated in a polite, non-intimidating manner.
Recently had a stint in the hospital that turned out to be due to a rare autoimmune issue. During my stay the doctors and nurses were so kind and incredibly helpful. They helped make what was a scary experience a bit easier
If there is zero star, I will give it to this hospital. I gave birth to my kid here and it was the worst experience in my life. They used very extreme way to push breastfeeding to me without knowing I had several breast surgeries for removing introductal papillomas. I had to hide when I feed my child formula and felt lots of pressures from the nurses. I didn’t feel I had been respected and cared.
. My 26 year old son was recently admitted to el camino real hospital through the emergency room for a relatively rare autoimmune nerve disorder. He spent a total of two weeks in the hospital before being released to acute rehabilitation in Los gatos. I want say the nursing staff was stellar. They were caring, empathetic and consummately professional. Vivien, Amy, Yunjin, Violet from imaging, Kathryn and many more on third floor responsible for his care. The CNAs were great too. You have our appreciation an gratitude ! The neurologists on staff were great and worked diligently towards a definitive diagnosis . They explained the issues and came up with a cogent plan of treatment. The care coordinator Kim was a godsend...she is truly good at her job made things much easier for us. Most of the attendings were very good and were very attentive to my son's care. So you ask why not give them 5 out 5 for a rating. Well, one of the attendings seemed not to have read the chart, not know the care plan, did not know the actual diagnosis. Additionally, he was uncooperative with the insurance paperwork and antagonistic when asked about it to us and the nursing staff. Perhaps he should seek a position where patient interaction is not required. Overall a great care experience except for that one attending physician
The worst hospital in the world. I did a small surgery for my bladder. The hospital charges close to $48,000 and left thousands dollars for us to pay after the insurance paid. Their charges for the each section are extremally high. For example, the HC Outpatient Admission is $3505. I stayed in the surgery waiting room for over 5 hours due to the doctor's delay and I have to pay this high admission fee. HC Outpatient per Hour is $201. HC General Anesthesia Major per Minute is $3528, HC General Anesthesia Major is $ $4715. I don't understand why a small surgery need to charge twice anesthesia fee totaled close to $9000 when I argue the bill with the billing department. The lady just claims the bill is not adjustable and ask me to call insurance. When I tried to discuss the bill detail with her and she just refuse to discuss and keep tell me the bill is not adjustable. I said, I need to know what I am paying and you need to explain to me. However, she bluntly refused and even hanged up the phone with me when I ask her name. Terrible and greedy hospital.
