Incredible care! Had an amazing experience going through pregnancy and the birth of my first child under the care of these incredible doctors. I loved that I got to meet all the doctors so whoever was on call at the time of birth would be familiar. I was always educated, informed and presented with options by the staff that made me feel confident throughout each step. Could not recommend enough!
This review is both for the clinic and the OB, both of which were terrible. My wife and I both had a horrible experience with OB Gupta. We are expecting our first child and my wife obviously had a lot of questions and concerns. Gupta offered brushed off all of her concerns and questions. Every appointment with her was at like 5 minutes and then we were rushed out. The clinic will charge you for unnecessary tests through labs that your insurance will not cover. Highly recommend finding a different place to receive your care.
I can’t express my love enough for this group of doctors! I came to them when i was about 4 months pregnant with my 3rd child and they were amazing from the very start. I was so disappointed and discouraged with my previous OB that i wasn’t very hopeful of having a better experience finding a new one but i was so wrong, I feel so blessed to have found the ladies at El Camino Women’s Medical Group. My primary doctor is Dr. Teng and she is my absolute favorite doctor I’ve ever had. She is so caring, attentive & compassionate. She always makes time for me wheater it’s something big or small and that speaks volumes about her professionalism and compassion. I’ve had the pleasure of being seen and cared for by all of the doctors at ECWMG and they are all equally amazing. You’ll always have a caring, trustworthy doctor to count on with this group. The front office ladies are kind and helpful and so are the medical assistants! It’s always been a 10/10 experience each appointment.
I hope the review helps others. I am 35years and had been trying to conceive. I visit this place for check up as I knew something about my body was not right. Took of test&scan so expensive they charge my tsh 2.8 which is normal range but not for pregnancy I asked doctor repeatedly about it &she told my BMI is problem to conceive and not thyroid. And again after3months my tsh jumped to 3.1. I am seeing another gynecologist she gave me thyroid medication ideally while trying to conceive tsh <2.5 is better, I am not a doctor but that’s something I know because these day’s internet can give you access to so many research papers and articles after starting medication I feel so much better and different. This place is purely business focused. They were just trying to give you all test and again another scan in 3months. I’m so disappointed with the clinic. Women who keep trying to conceive need not necessarily need to have fertility issues. Sometimes some changes in hormones cause the hurdles. I sincerely hope doctors understand that. This is purely my personal experience. May be other people have better experience. I would never recommend this clinic. Please make sure your insurance covers everything and also I find the doctor appointment cost expensive compared to other places my experience seeing the insurance claims I have . Before you visit here make a good point about the expenses
1. My first part of the review is for the clinic. The clinic only uses Obstetrix San Jose for scans so patients have no options. Obstetrix completely missed my marginal cord insertion diagnosis at my anatomy scan, contrary to what they claimed themselves of being good at caring for high risk pregnancy. Also obstetrix is quite expensive and the co-pay and out of pocket expense could easily go to thousands depending on the insurance you have. I also heard a horrible case from a mom's group that a pregnant mama was mistakenly administered HPV vaccine by the nurse at this clinic. She was supposed to receive the TDAP instead! In many countries including the US, HPV vaccine is prohibited if you are pregnant, or preparing for pregnancy. This is just horrible practice and bad stuff management/training. 2. The 2nd part of the review is for my OB Amy Teng. Most of my appointments with her were like 5 minute long, very fast. Fine, I understand that clinics are busy due to the lack of staff. But she was negligent and didn't even check my fundal height after 20 weeks, like most other OBs do for their patients once they reach the 2nd trimester. I had to bring this up to her a few times that my belly was small for my gestational age. She and her nurse initially brushed off my concern. She finally checked my fundal height and then ordered a growth scan. Then indeed we found out the baby is smaller and later confirmed growth restriction IUGR in the following scans. After the growth restriction diagnosis, she did nothing except just routine OB visits. No test, no management, no monitoring. After talking to moms in the IUGR group about how they are treated and getting 2nd opinions from other Obs, I switched to another Ob group and got immediate care such as weekly monitoring NST etc and a few tests to make sure the baby is doing ok. With the new ob group, I also had the freedom to work with other high risk maternal fetal medicine specialists in the area for ultrasounds etc. I have been so tired in this pregnancy worrying and researching things that an experienced and caring OB and MFM could have easily done and pointed me in the right direction. If I hadn't insisted for fundal height check and follow up growth scans, we might have completely missed the growth restriction diagnosis. This ob lack of basic training and empathy for patients.
They’ve so outdated office vaccination policy. I’m assisting my friend and I have my 2 doses of vaccines, I have my mask on and I’m not even sick and the ladies in the front desk doesn’t even let me to sit and wait my friend at the waiting room. They especially came and told me that I have to wait outside where there’s nowhere to sit, because I don’t have a 3rd booster and ‘this is their office policy’ .They also don’t accept tests and only Pcr even for visitors.??!!! I doubt how 3 day prior Pcr would be more effective than the antibodys which are done just at the moment. You can go any waiting room with a vaccination card and a mask. I’m so disappointed by their outdated office policy and I couldn’t help my friend whose husband is not with her for the visit and needed my support. Such a shame…
Facts: 1. At 34 week of pregnancy, Dr Azad’s assistant gave me the WRONG Vaccine. I was supposed to receive Tdap, but they injected me with HPV vaccine instead. 2. Baby was born with a birth defect and later we see some developmental delay. No empathy was expressed. 3. At the 6 week postpartum checkup, Dr. Balassiano barely spent time checking, and she didn’t address my high score of postpartum depression. When I self-reported I could have depression, the practice told me to find a psychotherapist by myself. 4. At 2 week and 6 week postpartum checkups, OB doctors said my C-Section incision looked fine. But at around 9 weeks postpartum, when I brought up the scarring around the incision again, the practice responded “It’s too late to treat”. And again the practice told me to find a dermatologist by myself. 5. Unprofessional admin staff, paperwork handling is poor. Both my pre and post delivery SDI forms were initially incomplete. I needed to communicate multiple times to move it forward. Conclusion: Avoid this practice at all costs. Their staff are sloppy and doctors just don’t care. They didn't even know what they were injecting in patient. I feel lucky that I am still alive.
This was my second visit with Dr. Cristina Lam. Dr. Lam was incredible. She made me feel very comfortable. She took her time listening to me and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed.
I waited for a month for the appointment, but they can just cancel it because of an emergency surgery. They also didn't leave a voice message. By the way, there will be no appointment available this year for the doctor! How about this doctor who just got a cancellation this Friday? Quite bad arrangement and my upset story
This rating is for the business itself rather than the OB, who I had no issues with. I only found out that any procedures at the hospital would not be covered by my insurance, so I had to scramble to find a new OB for a time-sensitive procedure. They refused to refer me to another provider. I just wonder why they took me on as a patient if they knew my insurance wouldn’t be accepted. Also, the nurse/medical assistant who attended to me kept on calling me by the wrong name, even after I corrected them. 3 times in one appointment. This was in addition to a general feeling of inattentiveness. Overall I did not feel looked after by this practice at a vulnerable time, and I’m glad to have found better care elsewhere.
