El Paso County Jail

i spent 5 days there. which garnish 4 stars. great time, friendly inmate, great Correctional Officer. whether u r misdemeanor or felon, u will enjoy; the food slop, stiff bunks, cold 4-walls, 3 in the morning breakfast calls and the occasional insane inmate. 1 star less of 5, because of no congugate visits.

shittiest place in the springs, they treat people worse than jews in a concentration camp. someone needs to shut this place down. the food is barely edible, if you like green turkey slices, water and flour flavorless bread rocks and an old mustard packet for lunch, seek justice here. egg cake for breakfast anyone? 70% of the time all the "workers" are on facebook or talking about personal things instead of doing paperwork, so due process is out of the question. taking 7 hours to book 1 person is not ok. taking 7 hours to book 1 person and lose all the paperwork keeping them in jail is just ridiculous. medical treatment is laying on a freezing steel bed frame all by yourself until they think you should feel better after eating one more time. when you give people 3 years for rape, and someone else 4 years for a minor traffic infraction, something is very wrong with the system and people supporting it shouldn't be in places of authority. i have video evidence of officers out of uniform using unreasonable force against an inmate who needs special attention due to mental instability, and he needed to get surgery after they were done beating him senseless. these people are only here to make money for being bullies, no one wants to help you if they cant make a quota. ive called the police many times and will never again, for each time they turn the situation into me being the criminal somehow. also they charge you for EVERYTHING. they took the money from my pockets and gave me a check to cash to get it back, it costs money to cash a check, why would you take our money? just leave it alone you thieving murdering thugs, you do enough damage. seriously tho, this place needs a complete overhaul. you could easily kill yourself all over the suicide ward and no one could stop you. consider trying a day for yourself before thinking its a suitable place for "criminals" or calling trump Hitler when you pay police to be nazi scum.
