El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant

Worst Mexican style restaurant I've ever been to. I only went because my favorite place wasn't open in Decatur. This place was super busy, so obviously people enjoy it. But the chips were stale, the salsa had very little flavor and no spice. My plate came out and the chicken was cold and dry and it had cooled down so much before it was brought out that the cheese had become very tacky. The service was slow, and we only got one re-fill and the soda was way overpriced for only getting 1 additional fill up. The only positive I can say is that the server was nice enough to remove the charge for the plate I had. I will never give this place a try under any circumstances. I have no idea how they received so many previous accolades. The people who go there must not know what a good Mexican style dish is. I'm not Mexican and can make better food than the plate I got.

Absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. Best salsa in town. Prices are great. Always seated fast regardless if they're busy or not. Friendly staff, great service and food is always hot and fresh. They also make the best Amaretto Stone Sours.

Best Mexican food in town. I ordered chicken fajitas, and it was delicious. The next day, I came back and bought 2 gift cards from them for Thanksgiving gifting. It was that good.Food: 5/5

Horrible food, had a slither of Relano instead of the whole pepper it was quite the rodeo, my beverage was instant from powder. The waiter was nice and provided good service. I did with out supper after seeing the food I got. This was a first and last here

Oh what a great outing tonight! With less than 48 hours before the entire state of Illinois is locked down in regards to dine in eating at restaurants. Everyone and their cousins were eating out tonight. There was a lineup to get into the restaurant I was at shortly after I arrived. Great food, great portions, fantastic service and mind blowing low prices. The server brought me a to go box even let me take a whole basket of chips and good sized container of salsa on top of all my leftovers. I had some high end seafood Fajitas with shrimp and scallops along with all the usual onions and peppers etc. It also included a second plate which contained the rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, Gaucamole and Pico de gallo. Bottomless Glass of Pepsi. Hell!, he even brought me yet another Pepsi in a Styrofoam cup with lid to go with my leftovers, chips and salsa. Whole thing cost less than 14 USD. I gave him 21 bucks USD so 50% tip. I also gave him a Canadian loonies, quarter, dime and nickel as well. Lol! It was beyond just a meal it was a remarkable experience to savour. I hope to return here at some point in the future when eat in dining is restored again to try something else on the menu!

My daughter has treated me to El Rodeo a couple of times this last month. Delicious and I love, love, love their hot salsa and spices. She always gets the Shrimp Delight and enjoys their margaritas. I am a hella designated driver! Haha I have tried a couple of different items from the menu. Carne Asada El Rodeo is a favorite of mine! I will include pictures of one of our evenings there. I don't remember what I ordered, I will have to update later. They were delicious, though. 11/13/22 We have been here multiple times since my original post. Tonight I had the chicken quesadilla. Delicious! Large helping of chicken inside the tortilla and cheese. I chose beans. It came with lettuce tomatoes and sour cream. Chips and sauce a good. And, of course, my daughter had Shrimp Delight. Always! Haha Very good!

Had my customary inaugural meal of 1 ground beef hard shell taco and 1 chicken enchilada. Salsa was thinner than most places I've been, yet had more flavor than most places. Ground beef on par with most decent places, but I don't really recall the chicken flavor in the enchilada. Perhaps a better way to say that is the cheese on the enchilada distracted my palette. It was not a cheese sauce, just melted cheese; yet there I sat distracted by it. In a good way Opted for the small margarita on the rocks which was also pleasantly surprising. I don't care for overly tart beverages, and for a house drink this was better than most. Menu is expansive, so I took pictures to peruse later. Definitely recommend thus far though.

El Rodeo is a must every time I visit. The service was a little slower than usual, but the food is always good!!! Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant! A must try!!!Food: 5/5

Freaking amazing one of the best Mexican restaurants I think I've been to and I'm a huge fan of Mexican food yeah this place is a gem and you should definitely eat there staff is super friendly food arrived in a timely fashion restaurant was clean and food was amazing! Features: All safety precautions were taken that I noticed there was plexiglass blocking the countertop staff was wearing masks everybody had social distanced they follow it to a T
