The only things that are good about this place is the location and the prices. Everything else is God awful. I have scheduled an appointment once a month for the past 6 months. Every time I arrive,my appointment has either been cancelled, moved to someone that I didn't originally schedule it with or the student doesn't show up. Management is no better because they always make excuses and don't hold them accountable. When you complain they make it seem like you are the issue. My time id valuable and I won't waste it, waiting to see if someone may or may not show up. This place is a joke. I have recently started going to aveda. They are knowledgeable, professional and seem genuinely happy to be learning. This place needs to get it together before they get closed down.

I love my experience here. I have met 3 stylist I love to see. Whether they are doing my hair or not they still say hey or ask how Im doing. I love the prices. You cant beat it. I dont have a personal hair stylist so meeting these students and trusting them to do my hair is awesome.

I got my hair cut a undercut its cost 9 bucks! Of course washed and blow out. My hair dresser name is Taylor Floyd. She was great! She was super nice and if she didn't feel comfortable about something she asked her teacher before doing it which made me trust her more. But when I tell you she slayed my hair honey I went in looking like a who did it and when to walking out feeling like a new person!! ♡♡♡♡ I will be seeing her again. Thinking bout a color and maybe my eye brows did!! ThAnks Taylor keep up the good work doll! €♡♡♡♡

An Unsupervised Daycare!
My daughters and I have visited many other beauty schools in the past, but wanted to try this school because it's close to my new home. So, I visited Empire Beauty School in Charlotte for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and this place was like an unsupervised daycare! I have never felt the need to write a review, until I visited this place.
The students were running rampant, several of them were huddled up in a small group, talking and laughing very loudly, practicing dance moves, like they were in a nightclub.
Others were huddled up near their work stations, gossiping about other students, and making negative comments about one of the patrons who had just had their hair done at the school. The so-called floor supervisor (short, round, African American woman) mostly stayed in the back of the building, and made an appearance on the floor, about once every hour.
She (the supervisor) stopped by my chair to glance at my hair only once in the 2.5 hours while I was there, and she really didn’t check to see what the student was doing, she just asked the student, how is it going? Then walked on by, which very disappointing.
The student who butchered my hair, acted like she was mad at the world and didn’t want to talk, except to another immature student who stood next to her with an iPhone, making fun of people on Facebook, and of course, this was going on while the girl was attempting to style my hair.
I would only trust the students with a simple wash and trim, but no application of any chemicals at all, most of them are obviously not trained properly to do this. It’s sad to think that some of the students are going to actually work in a real beauty salon. I already feel sorry for the salon owners who will have to babysit these incompetent, immature children!
And for the so-called supervisor, she needs to do the job she’s being paid for, put down that bag of potato chips, and get her lazy butt out on the floor, and actually supervise!

This Empire is the ONLY location here in Charlotte that I trust to do a great service. I've been coming here since 2014 and every time (except for once) I've had a great experience.
