This is my home gym due to proximity, but I've been to a handful of others and definitely think this is the best. I love that all the weights are on one level and not crowded, they provide good space between equipment. Staff is great, locker rooms are always clean, I don't have a single complaint except maybe I wish they had a standing leg press or hack squat
What a nice gym! It’s always pristinely clean, and the staff at the front desk are super friendly. The whole space including the locker rooms feels spacious and fresh, which makes for a consistently top-notch gym experience.
I'm a member but this Clubs frustrating me so much! They have a lot to offer but they take away the opportunity to try it! The offer nice steam room but thegisno chance to try it, either it's not working or they clean it 3 times a day!steam clean Bacteria! Why I paying over 250 a month can not enjoy a steam room for ones. They either already close or someone clean it!!!please do something about it
DO NOT JOIN this gym. If you have to join equinox, there are different branches on the upper east side. There are also gyms from different companies in this area that are ranked 5 stars on Google reviews. The management at this branch is rude, dishonest and not solution-oriented. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but if you have an issue with billing, management, specifically Diego, treats you like garbage, talks down to you for asking simple questions about your account, such as, “how much credit do I have on my account?” He will not answer you, and then when he turns his back, a staff member will whisper it to you. Equinox at 92nd St, why is this your business practice? Why is this ok? Please hire new management — it’s not just Diego, it’s across the board— and make back any Covid losses the honest way, by being good at what you do and increasing recruitment.
Purposefully chose an "all levels welcome" class. Half way through the class the instructor, Esco, started lecturing and calling out a beginner they seemed to be having issues with some poses, and going into child pose. This went on for a few minutes from across the whole room and the instructor pointed and said "I'm talking to you in the [description of clothing]". The interaction felt inappropriate especially for a yoga class, but even so for a HIIT class or similar, it wasn't words of encouragement but as if they were trying to belittle the student rather than help. Most instructors set a welcoming and supportive tone for their classes. Why not go over to the student and ask quietly if they were ok/needed modifications? This completely distracted me for the remainder of the class and sullied the experience.
This equinox has an interesting layout. You check in on the ground floor, then take the elevator up to get to the changing rooms, and then take a set of stairs or elevator, if you prefer to get to the gym itself. Even though the gym itself isn't very big - this location never got too crowded when I was here, but then again it was COVID times. Everything was always clean and I never had to wait for a machine.
Hello, I am visiting New York for 3 months as an international student. The studio in general is good. It's big and offers different places to exercise. For me personally, as a hardcore gym rat, some things were missing, but otherwise everything was great. Unfortunately I only give the studio one point because the management and the way they're dealing with the customers is very bad and miserable. Since I'm only here for 3 months as an international student, I only agreed to the contract so that I could easily leave at any time. Cause obviously, my Visa is limited and I can not stay any longer. Thats what I agreed on with the Salesperson. I think that makes sense. After voicing my concerns about the lack of equipment and my experiences, the Management Assistant offered me to put myself on the guest lists of other clubs so I can check them. Unfortunately I didn't have the time and the month was coming to an end. So I decided to quit again. After I submitted my notice of termination, my emails were no longer answered. Even after calling several times the club and being in the studio. Until I then put on a new mail. A standard response followed and I was asked why I wanted to leave and all of a sudden I had to submit documents for a normal termination process - although an exception was made and this was confirmed even by herself. Furthermore, sending a standard response, and not reading the concerns of your customers, is very impolite and shows that nobody cares. However, I've been waiting again for an answer for over 6 weeks now. I also called the concierge, but still nothing has happened. Therefore, I recommend everyone who registers here to enjoy the offer with caution. Especially if you're just visiting NYC like I do. Its more than absurd to me, as Equinox is advertising as a Luxury Upper Class Gym, but has such a bad customer handling. You pay so much money, and didn't even get customer oriented appropriate solution support. Ridiculous. Best, Max
DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. The customer service is insulting. After over a decade of being an equinox member at various different locations, the manager at this location refuses to speak with me and has not lived up to his word. I'm not comfortable going back since covid began - I emailed them I'd like to quit and they continued to charge me every month. I finally told the credit card company to block them but they won't refund me for the months they charged me even though the manager said he would. I have emails to back all of this up. 10 years of membership and this is the way you get treated. The person I dealt with was Dhyago Figueroa. You do NOT want to work with him or join this gym!
I just joined Equinox East 92nd Street and it was the best fitness-decision I’ve made in a long time! The gym’s atmosphere, assortment of powerlifting/bodybuilding equipment, and 24-7 access will keep me coming back!
Made me wait 20 min to talk to someone. Then scowled at me because I wouldn’t sign up for a year commitment. Great reminder of why I’ve avoided this pretentious place.
