Been cycling out on the road for many years. My first time indoor cycling experience went fabulous. I love all Crank staffs, they're amazing. Instructors motivate the class 200%. I take 6am classes on weekdays since I have work and surprisingly morning intense workout wakes me up and it helps me to last throughout the day without feeling exhausted. Great for stress relieving, healthy shape-up, and energy booster. Highly recommend.
The instructors are great as well as their playlists! and the other people in the class are friendly and supportive. I personally like that the classes are not packed full as I've been able to reserve a bike last minute and I appreciate the reasonable class fees and that the shoe rental is included.
If you've never tried spin, but want to, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BEGIN! I joined Crank Upper East Side when they opened just about six weeks ago at the beginning of April. It's changed my life and I'm not exaggerating. I've discovered an amazing way to exercise, my body has transformed, and, most importantly, I've found a place to work out where I feel like I belong. There is NO JUDGMENT here! The owner, Anthony, and his desk staff and instructors are all about customer service. I had never taken a spin class and they taught me how to set up the bike and made me feel comfortable about learning how to spin. They do this with everyone. The prices are amazing. You won't find a more affordable place to spin. It's a least $10 cheaper than SoulCycle and you get the exact same workout! Shoes and towels are included as well as locker storage. The place is clean and well kept. What I love the most about Crank is that is NOT pretentious at all. Anthony wants to serve every customer, at every fitness level. The instructors have the same attitude. I take a lot of class with Ellie and her energy is contagious and her classes are tough, but rewarding. Definitely give this place a try!
found Crank via classpass. Never done indoor cycling before and Crank got me hooked. Too bad I can only go 3 times/month... The studio is very clean. All you need is just show up. they got towels and shoes, very convenient.
I've yet to try UES but I've been a LIC rider for two years now. I discovered the studio courtesy of ClassPass. Since then, I've fallen in love with not only the studio, but the instructors. I can't tell if I'm suppose to dance or spin, the music is so good. It's also affordable which is helpful. Check it out peeps.
This may be more of a personal preference since I don't like indoor cycling classes where you "dance" on the bike, but this was not for me. I decided to check it out since I was staying the night in the Upper East Side, but I would not go back. There was not one whole minute that were weren't doing some type of pushup strange movement on the bike. I hardly sweat and was following along the entire time. There were no sprints or hills, just a few turns of the wheel every now and then. I am very picky about my workouts and was actually disappointed that I got up early in the freezing winter and didn't get a great workout.
Crank NYC! What can I say? Hidden gem on the UES! Great instructors! Check the studio out! This place will leave you feeling positive and energized!
I'm somewhat new to indoor cycling and Crank made every moment a great experience, from the checkin to the end of class. I highly recommend this studio.
An okay experience, however their website is not user friendly. I've been trying to get in contact with someone for weeks because I'm unable to login and schedule and no one seems to be concerned even though they're getting my monthly money.
I like that you have enough space to change and wait your class. Just a shame that we were barely a dozen for the 7pm class, it takes the energy down a notch, but the class was great otherwise!
