Fantastic experience with Erickson Mediation! I guess as good of an experience as you can have while going through a divorce... With our situation we realized early on it would go much smoother if would could work together instead of a long drawn out court battle where only the Lawyers come out ahead. So we tried to be civil and fair and completed our divorce in just TWO sessions! We put our children first and everything else was easy. Marilyn was great, as well as Solveig and Rosemary. I always felt like they were being fair and not choosing sides. That bad review has to be made up, especially since they refuse to use their name and were using such generic terms. There was one scheduling mix up and they went above and beyond to fix the problem. And they even dropped everything to go back and correct an error in the divorce judgement so I could finish my paperwork to sell my home. Very timely responses and answered all our questions. Always felt comfortable with them. Glad we chose them to handle our divorce and would certainly recommend to anyone that is willing to work together!

Steve Erickson and Marilyn McKnight did a workshop on mediation decades ago at our church. I asked, how could a couple, who almost always have fear and trepidation about divorcing, sit in front of a mediator, reach an agreement on dividing income and assets, and work with each other to remain good parents? "They don't come back" was the answer. It is their decision and fair to both parties. They are not back in court six months or later seeking a different agreement. As a financial planner, I attended my first mediation session with a married couple, who were my friends, and who had asked me to go with them to Erickson Mediation. I attended all the sessions. In addition, I did alternative financial forecasts to help in the process. Since that time I have served as a neutral and have done the same with over a hundred different couples at Erickson Mediation. All reached an agreement because of Steve's and Marilyn's skills. I have also been an expert witness in two divorce trials and experienced only animosity and bitterness. After those trials decided never do that again even though I have been asked many times. I highly recommend Erickson Mediation Institute.

Through a very structured process, Steve and his staff, lead my soon to be ex husband and I through the detangling of our lives and division of our assets to dissolve our marriage in a way we felt good about. Steve has years of legal and "people and conflict management" experience, and is an ethical, smart person. He was firm when he needed to be, gentle when needed to be and always respectful. He helped the two of us transition from a really ugly place in our divorce process, where we argued over everything, to a spiritual and peaceful place to part ways with love and respect. Odd as it sounds, Erickson mediation was restorative. We went from toxicity to grace. Thank you Steve and staff!

I completed training through Erickson Mediation Institute and found the instructors to be exceedingly knowledgeable. Their approach is geared toward finding agreements that are beneficial to all involved and their extensive experience is apparent in the way they customize agreements to fit the needs, values, and personalities of the different families they work with.
