Esperanza School

I have experienced and seen great things here for the kids. Ms. Shameaka took great care of my child and was always willing to communicate any issues about child and keep him engaged. He always comes talking about something he leared from her and the school. She was great and the facility is clean.

Sad to say that I trusted them to take care of my son but it wasn’t all great experience. Teachers were overwhelmed with numbers even though they confirmed not adding more kids in the room.

Both of our daughters attended Esperanza from infants up until Kindergarten. Highly recommend! The teachers are wonderful, the curriculum is fun and educational. Great environment. Administrative office can be difficult to work with, but that has improved over the years and the teachers far out weigh that inconvenience.

I sent both of my daughters to Esperanza from infancy through pre-k. The staff and program were great every step of the way, nurturing both girls in their own ways they have very different personalities!. I appreciated that the program provides a lot of outside time for burning energy in addition to lots of play-based learning that teaches a traditional preschool curriculum. Both really enjoyed their time here, with their many friends and teachers. By the time they graduated to "big school" both had been well-prepared for an academic Kindergarten where they were ready to thrive.

Esperanza is very conveniently located for my family since we live in the neighborhood. We love the facilities and playgrounds for the children. We saw a lot of red flags early on dealing with administrative personnel, but decided to overlook that and hope for the best. Dealing with administrative staff never improved, but we ended up attending Esperanza for 2.5 years anyways before deciding to move to another daycare. It turned out to be a very good decision for us. I'm sure they have some success with learning and development, but they never could figure out how to manage and develop my son, who is high energy. I don't think the staff is properly trained to adapt to different child behaviours. It became obvious to me when we moved to our new daycare and got to know his new teachers and how they evaluate development needs for the kids. At esperanza it felt more like babysitting compared to what we have now.

We have had our two sons attend this school since they were babies. All of their teachers have been great, and the events they have during the year pre-covid were a great way for families to interact and get to know each other. Our older son younger one isn't talking yet talks about his friends at school all the time. This school does a fantastic job of teaching the kids all kinds of good stuff which they then tell us about at home. There is a reason this school has been around for decades. We live in the Heights and after doing extensive research back when we were considering schools, we decided on Esperanza and we are confident to say we made the right decision.

Love, love, love this place. We moved from another, prestigious daycare after a bad experience and could not be happier. This is my daughter's second year at Esperanza and she is thriving and HAPPY. If fact, when I pick her up, there are times she does not want to leave. The teachers we've had thus far genuinely care about our kids and are very hands-on. The few times I have had an issue or concern, the teachers and administration were quick to respond and handle my concerns in a professional manner. Esperanza routinely exceeds my expectations and I absolutely recommend them.
