I had my first date with my now husband here. We went riding by the water and had a great time. The staff were all very nice. The experience was fun, we were shown how to groom and saddle the horses ourselves. Much better than a single file trail ride. We were given space to ride on our own. The property is beautiful.
Went here recently to check out the venue for a photoshoot and I absolutely love it. From the barn to the horses, to their little man made island that has a willow tree and little bridge connected it the main land was honestly the most naturally beautiful scenery that I have seen in a very long time. It was an hours drive from Norfolk and from me the drive is definitely worth it. I haven't actually been there during an event but the sunset can be viewed from the barn/ horses stables and it truly is beautiful. Plus I met with the female owner and she was very lovely and friendly. So definitely a place I will keep in mind for more photoshoots.
We came to the farm for my 2 year old’s birthday party and had a great time. Plenty of space and tables so everyone could be a little distant from each other. The kids loved the pony rides, which lasted as long as there were kids in line to ride some chose to have several rides!. The hayride was beautiful, and the releasing of the homing pigeons was an especially fun treat. The kids all loved helping to pick up the eggs in the henhouse at the end of the hayride. What an amazing time at a beautiful place! We will be back again!
As far as beautiful venues goes this one was definitely beautiful! Great space for large weddings. But just recently as the maid of honor for my bestfriends wedding i was very displeased with how things were as far as the owners wife being completely rude and unprofessional to the mother and father of the bride who paid a great amount of money for this place. Also the fact that upstairs where the bride and bridesmaid were to get ready had no place for us to hang our dresses we had to hang them on the shower door! >: there was no curtains for the windows facing outside where people were parking so no privacy. No where really to put our things or set up. Except a huge bed which was unnecessary and took up a lot of room. If your going to run a business for weddings you’d think it would be more set up for a wedding. All 10 of us ladies had to share a bathroom mirror and only one small full length mirror. Same for the groomsmen downstairs completely open for everyone to see them getting dressed. But like i said in the beginning the main problem i had with this place was the owners wife and how she was unprofessional/rude i was there and witnessed it first handtowards the mother and father of the bride. Also as for parking for the guests it’s in a field with no lighting at all! And random poles sticking out of the ground not marked with at least reflectors that one of the guests ran into. That needs to be fixed immediately.
I’m at least giving the farm 2 stars because it is a beautiful venue. I hate leaving a bad review but I was in awe the morning of my wedding. The house smelt like cat pee. Granted, we knew it was a dog and cat rescue but I also live in a home with 3 cats smaller home too and it doesn’t even smell that bad. No one knew where they could hang up their dresses, so we ended up having to hang them in the shower. The guys were totally lost downstairs and had the same issue, not knowing where they could hang the suits not many options were given. The guys also has 0 privacy. They had to get changed with open windows and the owners were coming in and out. We only had one trash can with 10 girls. We were promised that ‘mosquito joe’ would come and spray down the farm before the wedding, well I’ve had guests tell me now that they left with horrible bug bites as well as chiggers. The woman owner was a whole other level of rude towards my family. She screamed at my mother and father while they were leaving. I don’t know the entire story since my new husband and I had left. Regardless, it is completely unprofessional to yell at the parents or family Of the bride/groom or anyone attending the wedding and slam the door. The male owner creeped my guests out a bit because he was just walking around with his dog, not saying much to anyone, besides my husband. We were told before booking the venue that the owners would stay in their RV until the wedding was over. Or they may come out and mingle. The lady sure didn’t mingle friendly and he barely spoke a word. Cool. I get that it’s THEIR house but please do not act totally unprofessional and yell at the bride’s family or not do what was expected. We paid a decent amount of money and got treated like dirt by the female owner. Overall our wedding was beautiful thanks to our coordinators but the female owner of the farm caused a scene in the end. So gorgeous venue, premier events is awesome, the lady not so much.
The venue was very good, setting beautiful, company that provided the food and beverage and wedding organization was good quality. The negative is about the person that was greeting or welcoming guests or not, was very, very rude. I would not recommend this location for such an event because of her....never ever.
I only submit a 1 because there is no option for zero stars. The venue is a working horse barn with multiple indoor cats. My friend got married and the setup outside was pretty ... but guests sat in the barn and stalls to eat remember working horse barn ... can you imagine the smell in a hot day... on your wedding day... yeahhhh yummmy ... all while the bride and bridesmaids got their hair, makeup, and got dressed in cat litter smelling personal bedroom without even a broom passing by for the overload of cat hair formal dresses, cat hair, makeup and updo and litter box smell do not go together and will certainly mess with your allergies and your nerves ... yikes!
Let my grandson sit in the tractor. Took us for a ride to the point. Both of granddaughters caught fish off the point.
This is one of the most beautiful horse facilities I have ever seen in my 40+ years of owning and showing horses! Great place and even better people!!!
