I’m not able to afford an attorney(Which I told the judge in much detail) & yet they still said I wasn’t eligible for a court appointed one. I was told that I have until my next court to either hire my own or they’ll have to continue the trial without one. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Judges say one thing, and then your driving record reflects another. The clerk is a real piece of work too.

The first thing that upsets me is how this officer followed me for ten minutes before deciding to pull me over. He changed lanes when I did and followed me. Originally I got a ticket for expired tags. I had documentation from the DMV saying that I was exempt from a ticket since my car is new. The officer still gave me a ticket and refused to look at my documentation, on top of that he gave me a ticket for not wearing a seat belt (which I was unaware of for months) even though I took it off right before he came to my door and told him that. The officer was extremely rude, he interrupted me when I tried to say good afternoon, he used a very demeaning tone with me. He asked me to sign a paper saying "sign this." which I thought was just acknowledgement of having gotten the ticket. It turns out it was an agreement to show up to court. I called the court a month ahead of time and let them know I would not be able to attend because I had school. I was told this is okay as long as I brought my paperwork into court. I got to court and was informed that the paperwork needed to be turned in before my court date. I was told the only thing I could do was have a retrial so I set up a new court date and I got an extension to pay my fines just to find out that it wasn't a retrial it was a decision if I deserved retrial. Although I had all my documentation and told the judge I called a month ahead of time, he retorted with, "I don't have documentation of that and usually they're pretty good about that. Your case is denied." I wasn't ready to make any payments that day. You'd think having followed all the courts procedures that they wouldn't screw you over so much. About a week after my court case I received a letter in the mail informing me that my license was suspended for not paying my safety belt violation that I wasn't even aware that I had. You'd think since I'd given the teller both tickets she'd put an extension on both of them but evidently it was only for one. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING THAT IS GIVEN TO YOU AND READ EVERYTHING THAT IS GIVEN YOU. Do not take the courts word for what they tell you is okay and make sure you write down everyone's name because they are prone to making mistakes and you will be the one with the consequences.

Its a racket. Do not talk to the police, record everything and stand up for yourself. These ppl are revenue enforcers for the greedy court system of Fairfax county. 2 time ive been to traffic court and the officer did not show up and judges said I could plead guilty or come back into court another day (and lose another day of work). In both cases the judge basically tried to coerce me into pleading guilty and pay a fine where he basically replaces the "accuser" and/or prosecutor (unconstitutional). Also if your case is dismissed or found not guilty, the court of course does not reimburse you for your loss of work, the lucrative fee of parking there, or anything else.
Also as the rest of the country gets rid of photo radar tickets (due to them being constitutionally questionable) Fairfax is implementing and expanding the program. Never pay those, and do not respond to the letters, these are crimes they are accusing you of and is a phishing scam to get you to convict yourself. In America, the state has to have a witness and physical accuser to charge you with a crime. Stand up for yourself and dont let these people railroad you for profit.

Phone system is a waste going round and round and ending with "to return to the main menu press.." calls dead. Bad as Cook County Illinois! Waste of tax payer's dollars. You pay everywhere, generating the documents in a system paid for by tax dollars and then have to pay to access documents online.
