Family Pet & Garden Center

This place is a dump. Animals in bad situations and incredibly rude people. Stared my wife and I down like we were shoplifters. Some kittens out back my wife was petting were evidently off limits even though the sign says free kittens. Some misserable old rude guy hollered at her to put kitten down. Bitching about the sign that he said someone took down saying dont touch kittens. After all that asks what we want in a rude way. Left all the garbage we had to buy right there and out the door we went never to return.

I visited this facility to pick up some chicken feed to use for litter. I approached the man at the counter and told him what I was looking for. He rang me up, I paid and he left the counter with no explanation. He came back a few minutes later with the bags of kibble. I felt he was not friendly, but no rude either. He had no customer service skills in terms of thanking me or just saying hello. I thought to myself who cares I got what I need and not everyone is social. I returned a month later and this time he and his wife were at the counter. I asked for the kibble and she rang it up without even asking what size bag I wanted and she acted like I was annoying her or putting her out by having to help me. She rang in the wrong size bags and due to her rude attitude I simply said I wanted the larger bags but this is fine. She didn't offer to correct the error. I waited about 5 minutes for them to get the bags even though it was slow and they were standing around. I felt they were very rude and didn't care about being nice to paying customers. I returned a 3rd time and this was my last. I ordered 2 50 lb bags of kibble, paid and waited like I did the first two times. It was quiet again and the man looked to be just going through paperwork. A man came in, out his order in and someone out back brought his stuff to him. Still I waited. After 15 minutes of waiting with the man at the counter I asked if my kibble would be ready soon. He said it will be here in a minute. Finally after waiting 30 minutes total for something I should have been in and out with in 5 minutes, he asked if I was driving. Well duh, I didn't walk to get 100 lbs of kibble. I said yes. He said go drive around back and get your bags. I did and the bags were just sitting there on the ground with nobody there. I put the bags in my car and was amazed at the worst customer service I ever had. I can't believe these people are still in business. Tractor supply is literally right down the street. I go there now for my kibble. So much for trying to support a family business. I pay $2.00 more per bag of kibble, but I would pay double to make a point. They can't run themselves out of business fast enough. Tractor supply has everything this store has and the bird food and feeders are half the price at tractor supply. I would advise everyone to visit tractor supply and you will leave in the same mood you went in with.

HORRIBLE STORE AND SEEVICE. I'm an animal lover and love going to pet and feed stores as they all carry different supplies. While in Pembroke today I found what I thought was a cool feed store. I went in and looked around. I found this kitten in the corner in a metal ferret/chinchilla cage with small levels and a wire floor. His cage was dirty as was the water bowl. I went up to the front desk and a woman asked if they could help me. I nicely asked if they could give the poor kitten a blanket r something to lay on and get off the wire a little. They dropped what they were doing and looked at me like I had 10 heads... they laughed and said he's fine and doesn't need anything. That he can get stuff when he goes home. Apparently someone "won" him in a raffle that they do. That was a week ago and he's still there. I offered to take him and the rule was you had to buy $50 worth of supplies. Whatever. They still wouldn't let me buy just him. They were extremely, extremely rude to me. It takes a lot for me to say something too and they shot me down immediately. I asked once he's gone do they just put another one in that cage. The man replied with "yep, or a rabbit". I think I'm going to get that place inspected and know exactly who to go to.

Terrible store - very rude staff. They have a mother cat/kittens in a dirty mesh cage with just a thin rag to lay on. The kittens are free if you buy supplies from them. It's not right. I will get all supplies from Tractor Supply Company right up the street, great prices and helpful staff.

I go there for my wood pellets. Very nice people.
